ELON Musk has warned that the popular AI software known as ChatGPT could make homework useless. The Twitter owner exclaimed the end of homework in a tweet responding to New York City School's new policy to ban the software over plagiarism concerns. ChatGPT is an AI software released in November 2022 that is able to generate stylized words. It operates with information put on the internet before 2020 and is capable of writing papers at a fourth-grade level. The AI is designed to speak both conversationally and formally - leading school officials to wonder if students might start using the technology to complete their homework.

Abstract: In Multi-Task Learning, tasks may compete and limit the performance achieved on each other rather than guiding the optimization trajectory to a common solution, superior to its single-task counterparts. There is often not a single solution that is optimal for all tasks, leading practitioners to balance tradeoffs between tasks' performance, and to resort to optimality in the Pareto sense. Current Multi-Task Learning methodologies either completely neglect this aspect of functional diversity, and produce one solution in the Pareto Front predefined by their optimization schemes, or produce diverse but discrete solutions, each requiring a separate training run. In this paper, we conjecture that there exist Pareto Subspaces, i.e., weight subspaces where multiple optimal functional solutions lie. We propose Pareto Manifold Learning, an ensembling method in weight space that is able to discover such a parameterization and produces a continuous Pareto Front in a single training run, allowing practitioners to modulate the performance on each task during inference on the fly.

Abstract: Isomap algorithm is a representative manifold learning algorithm. The algorithm simplifies the data analysis process and is widely used in neuroimaging, spectral analysis and other fields. However, the classic Isomap algorithm becomes unwieldy when dealing with large data sets. Our object is to accelerate the classical algorithm with quantum computing, and propose the quantum Isomap algorithm. The algorithm consists of two sub-algorithms.
