How to Achieve #DigitalTransformation @ExpoDX @DellEMC #AI #IoT #IIoT #FinTech #SmartCities

#artificialintelligence

Industry after industry is under siege as companies embrace digital transformation (DX) to disrupt existing business models and disintermediate their competitor's customer relationships. But what do we mean by "Digital Transformation"? Digital Transformation The coupling of granular, real-time data (e.g., smartphones, connected devices, smart appliances, wearables, mobile commerce, video surveillance) with modern technologies (e.g., cloud native apps, Big Data architectures, hyper-converged technologies, artificial intelligence, blockchain) to enhance products, processes, and business-decision making with customer, product and operational insights. The digital transformation starts by understanding the organization's business initiatives, and then prioritizing which initiatives are top candidates for enhancement through digital transformation. "Begin with an end in mind" to quote Stephen Covey.

Mice and Machine Learning Help Map the Mind

#artificialintelligence

Mice brains and machine learning may lead to a new way to treat depression, according to a new paper published in the journal Cell and co-authored by Infinia ML Chief Scientist Larry Carin, Ph.D. The paper describes how scientists measured electrical signals in the brains of both observably resilient, active mice and observably depressed, inactive mice. The complexity and scale of the available data, gathered from 18 regions of the brain, then required advanced machine learning for analysis. In effect, scientists trained a learning algorithm to map each brain's connections. They found a pattern in the resilient mice that differed from the depressed. "We wanted to understand the traffic flow of a healthy brain," said Carin, the project's machine learning lead.

Boeing CEO says flying taxis will 'happen faster than we understand'

Daily Mail - Science & tech

Flying taxis could be close to taking flight within the next ten years. That's according to Boeing CEO Dennis Muilenberg, who said the aerospace giant has been testing prototypes of sophisticated flying taxis that could one day be capable of ferrying humans to and from places, not unlike an Uber. 'I think it will happen faster than any of us understand,' Muilenberg told Bloomberg. 'Real prototype vehicles are being built right now, so the technology is very doable,' he added. Pictured is the LightningStrike, a flying taxi created by Aurora Flight Sciences, that can ferry passengers between locations called'urban vertiports,' similar to high-tech helipads Muilenberg has been designing what would be the'rules of the road for three-dimensional highways' that carry autonomous flying taxis, Bloomberg noted.
