Acobot's AI Built Another AI that Outperforms Human Made Chatbot
Acobot LLC, the AI startup that recently published acobot.ai One chatbot was made by Acobot's artificial intelligence, the other was made by a highly experienced human developer. The test results show a better performance of AI made virtual agent regarding the accuracy of answering customer questions. The website used for the benchmark is the AI's home page, https://acobot.ai. The human player, an engineer with over 10 years of experience in natural language processing and chatbot building, read the web pages and manually populated a "brain," the knowledge base for the chatbot.
Drive.ai launches self-driving on-demand car service to Texas
Most of the news regarding self-driving cars comes from California or Arizona, where several suppliers and automakers have set up shop due to favorable regulations. But Drive.ai is ready to bring Texas into the fold. Drive.ai announced today that it plans to launch an on-demand self-driving car service on public roads in Frisco, Texas. Launching in July, and established in coordination with the Frisco Transportation Management Association, the service will provide autonomous rides around Frisco's "North Platinum Corridor" commercial area. This one won't be blending in with normal traffic.

Volvo will embed Google Assistant and Maps into future cars
Volvo announced today that its next-generation Sensus infotainment system, which will run on Android, will have the Google Assistant, Google Maps and the Google Play Store embedded within it. Adding Google Maps has some obvious benefits for drivers while the Google Assistant will give users voice control over in-car functions like air conditioning as well as music and messaging. "Bringing Google services into Volvo cars will accelerate innovation in connectivity and boost our development in applications and connected services," Henrik Green, Volvo senior VP of research and development, said in a statement. "Soon, Volvo drivers will have direct access to thousands of in-car apps that make daily life easier and the connected in-car experience more enjoyable." Google and Volvo announced last year that they were teaming up to build Android into future cars.
NetSpeed and Esperanto Partner to Power SoCs for Artificial Intelligence
AI applications demand new architectures to meet the need for unprecedented performance, sophisticated functionality and ultra-low power. Interconnect technology is a critical component of these architectures. "We are still in the early stages of AI maturity, but what we've learned is that sophisticated neural networks require tremendous performance," said Linley Gwennap, principal analyst at The Linley Group. "Generating this level of performance often requires a large number of cores, but these architectures can be difficult to design and test. NoC technology, such as NetSpeed's, has become an important enabling technology for AI because it automates the process of connecting CPUs and accelerators on a complex SoC." "Esperanto is putting thousands of processors and accelerators on a single chip, and our challenge was how to interconnect them. NetSpeed provided a compelling solution for interconnecting our cores with high performance and by licensing their IP we can reduce our time to market as well," said Dave Ditzel, CEO of Esperanto Technologies.
Microsoft empowers developers with new and updated Cognitive Services
The blog post was authored by Andy Hickl, Principal Group Program Manager, Microsoft Cognitive Services. Today at the Build 2018 conference, we are unveiling several exciting new innovations for Microsoft Cognitive Services on Azure. At Microsoft, we believe any developer should be able to integrate the best AI has to offer into their apps and services. That's why we started Microsoft Cognitive Services three years ago – and why we continue to invest in AI services on Azure today. Microsoft Cognitive Services make it easy for developers to easily add high-quality vision, speech, language, knowledge and search technologies in their apps -- with only a few lines of code.
R9B Introduces Artificial Intelligence-Based Expert System to HUNT Operations
R9B's APCs are 24x7x365 security-as-a-service operations centers designed to deliver both managed detection and response services as well as threat hunting to a growing customer set. The ORION HUNT platform enables cyber defenders to stealthily maneuver in a client network to proactively search for adversaries that defeat passive and automated security products. Leveraging DarkLight will enable APC HUNT operations to find correlations and patterns within any size dataset, rapidly evaluating millions of events. The combination of DarkLight and APC operations delivers a new and powerful network security-based data analysis model. Combining the analytics engine with the ORION platform creates a dynamic, targeted collection and response mechanism.
