The Most Famous Artist: Art Meets AI

#artificialintelligence

He's known for causing social media frenzies with his artwork and for one day only The McLoughlin Gallery in San Francisco will be exhibiting, 'Artificial Intelligence: THE END OF ART AS WE KNOW IT' by Matty Mo. Going by the name, The Most Famous Artist he has partnered with a group of anonymous hackers to build a proprietary artificial intelligence powered by big data capable of emulating and breeding art styles to produce high-quality original artworks. The first images released utilizing this technology are a series of portraits of people whose jobs will be eventually eliminated by artificial intelligence. These unique portraits resemble the methodical style of photorealist artist Chuck Close, who forced to adopt because of a health complication rendering him partially paralyzed in 1988. This exhibition serves as starting point for a discussion about the challenges facing humanity in light of big data, AI and robots.

Diane Kim is the AI Interaction Designer at x.ai, where she designs the voices of their two AIs, Amy and Andrew. Both act as personal assistants who schedule and coordinate meetings.

We Will Live Forever Through Bots and AI in the Near Future

#artificialintelligence

This year has seen both artificial intelligence (AI) along with bots dominate tech news based on the advancements that have been taking place in both areas. We're just beginning to see the possibilities and implications that both of these technologies will bring in our near futures. People have been contemplating ways to leverage these technologies for creating a presence for people that have died long before they began dominating the news. Several years ago I discovered Lifenaut and found myself intrigued and imagining a future where a digital version of myself would exist long after I died. The service allows you to upload documents, photos, videos, additional data as well as connect to your social accounts.

Canada 150: What is Canada really good at?

BBC News

Canada is a country with a relatively small population of just about 36 million people, but its citizens have still been busy inventing, innovating and entertaining. In the run up to Canada Day, we asked BBC readers to tell us what they thought were some of the biggest contributions the country has made to the world. Here are some of those suggestions. The list of Canadian singers, actors, comedians and entertainers is extensive. Readers flagged artists Shania Twain, Celine Dion, Drake, Leonard Cohen, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Arcade Fire, Alanis Morissette and Justin Bieber as just a handful of the musicians who have achieved global fame and swept awards shows for their work.

Why the Future of Business Coaching is Artificial Intelligence

#artificialintelligence

As I leaned back in my chair, I began to realise that the only way you could provide unlimited, free, specific and scalable advice was if, it wasโ€ฆ not human. The promise is that it will reduce costs, save time and even save lives. So I began to think about how AI could help my industry and give millions of business owners their own personal business coach. That plane ride was two years ago and that's why I'm so very pleased to announce we have launched BRiN, the world's first artificially intelligent business advisor.

The Artificial Intelligence Revolution: Part 2 - Wait But Why

#artificialintelligence

Note: This is Part 2 of a two-part series on AI. PDF: We made a fancy PDF of this post for printing and offline viewing. We have what may be an extremely difficult problem with an unknown time to solve it, on which quite possibly the entire future of humanity depends. Welcome to Part 2 of the "Wait how is this possibly what I'm reading I don't get why everyone isn't talking about this" series. Part 1 started innocently enough, as we discussed Artificial Narrow Intelligence, or ANI (AI that specializes in one narrow task like coming up with driving routes or playing chess), and how it's all around us in the world today. We then examined why it was such a huge challenge to get from ANI to Artificial General Intelligence, or AGI (AI that's at least as intellectually capable as a human, across the board), and we discussed why the exponential rate of technological advancement we've seen in the past suggests that AGI might not be as far away as it seems. This left us staring at the screen, ...
