It's impossible to say precisely how artificial intelligence will disrupt the job market, so researchers at PwC have taken a bird's-eye view and pointed to the results of sweeping economic changes. Their prediction, in a new report out Tuesday, is that it will all balance out in the end. More automation in trucks, factories and elsewhere could cost around 7 million existing jobs in the U.K. by 2037. But the rise in robots and machine-learning software will make the country more productive over the next two decades, growing at a 2% annual clip, to put nearly the same number of jobs back in the system: 7.2 million, PwC estimates.

"So what we've always focused on from the very beginning, eight years ago now actually, is the quality of the core product, the foundation of everything that we do, and that's our knowledge base, our reasoning engine, and how it works, the clinical quality of that, accuracy, safety."

Researchers at the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Argonne National Laboratory have turned to the power of machine learning and artificial intelligence to dramatically accelerate the process of battery discovery, according to the study published in -- Chemical Science. As described in two new papers, Argonne researchers first created a highly accurate database of roughly 133,000 small organic molecules that could form the basis of battery electrolytes. To do so, they used a computationally intensive model called G4MP2. This collection of molecules, however, represented only a small subset of 166 billion larger molecules that scientists wanted to probe for electrolyte candidates.

After creating waves across startups, artificial intelligence (AI) seems to have now entered the doors of justice. The Chief Justice of India, SA Bobde, has recently said that the Supreme Court has proposed to introduce a system of AI which would help in better administration of justice delivery and constitution. The CJI also made it clear that the automation would not replace humans. He said that the judiciary would continue to rely on the knowledge and wisdom of judges and the deployment of an AI integration would help reduce the number of pending cases and improve the efficiency of the judicial system. "We propose to introduce, if possible, a system of artificial intelligence. There are many things which we need to look at before we introduce ourselves. We do not want to give the impression that this is ever going to substitute the judges," said the CJI at the Constitution Day function organised by the Supreme Court Bar Association.
