Top Machine Learning MOOCs and Online Lectures: A Comprehensive Survey
Everyone who gets going in Machine Learning (and Deep Learning) gets overwhelmed by the plethora of MOOCs available. Here, I try to give a comprehensive survey of such courses available freely on the internet. You can take this post as an complementary to this and this previous posts. I will try to highlight some important pointers such as the difficulty of the courses, the correct order in which these should to be completed, the right audience for these courses. You will get a feel of how these courses give you a stack of skills in your arsenal and how you can use them to develop practical machine learning systems.
A.I. Could Hack Turing Test by Keeping Silent
The Turing test, the quintessential evaluation designed to determine if something is a computer or a human, may have a fatal flaw, new research suggests. The test currently can't determine if a person is talking to another human being or a robot if the person being interrogated simply chooses to stay silent, new research shows. While it's not news that the Turing test has flaws, the new study highlights just how limited the test is for answering deeper questions about artificial intelligence, said study co-author Kevin Warwick, a computer scientist at Coventry University in England. "As machines are getting more and more intelligent, whether they're actually thinking and whether we need to give them responsibilities are starting to become very serious questions," Warwick told Live Science. "Obviously, the Turing test is not the one which can tease them out." The now-famous Turing test was first described by British computer scientist Alan Turing in 1950 to address questions of when and how to determine if machines are sentient.

Tesla says autopilot involved in second car crash
Tesla has admitted that its autopilot feature was activated when one of its cars crashed on Sunday. However, the electric carmaker has suggested that the function was not being used correctly at the time. The motorist survived the accident, but another Tesla owner died in an earlier crash blamed on the driver-assist function failing to detect another vehicle in its path. Chief executive Elon Musk said Tesla had no plans to disable autopilot. However, he told the Wall Street Journal that his company would publish a blog highlighting how drivers should make use of the technology. He also tweeted that it was right that Tesla should be "taking the heat for customer safety".
