Tekken 7 review: The king has returned
Street Fighter V, Injustice 2, the upcoming ARMS -- there's no shortage of excellent fighter games available on this generation's consoles. Now, the king has returned. For many gamers, the Tekken series will no doubt hold a special place, particularly the third -- released on Playstation for the home market -- which quickly became one of the console's best-selling and reviewed games. Further instalments have never quite reached those same heights, often becoming overly complicated, the cast of characters being less loveable. The main story, concerning the Mishima family, has also become increasingly confusing, something of a deterrent for those looking to further into the game.
Trust Me, I'm A Doctor: Dealing With Data In The New Digital Health Age
As recently as 200 years ago, people still thought that bloodletting was the only cure for diseases. It's astounding to think of how far we've come since then. A man who became a hero in the world of medicine is French physician Pierre Louis. He's credited as being the father of the clinical trial. You could even argue that he was the first to use data in medicine. But his acceptance didn't come immediately.
Creditcall's Impressive Growth Numbers PYMNTS.com
Listen up, payment provider community. Increased digitalization, continued pursuit of integration across channels, ever-increasing complexity, more partnerships and the integration of technologies like the Internet of Things, machine learning and artificial intelligence may be what's needed to propel the payment provider industry forward, at least according to Creditcall's CEO Lars Pedersen. "We must embrace these new technologies and the resulting complexity so we can provide solutions that merchants can readily deploy to increase revenues, reduce costs, and gain greater insight into customer preferences and business logistics," Pedersen said. As a company that was just named to the London Stock Exchange Group's 1,000 Companies to Inspire Britain, all while being 100 percent self-funded, payments provider Creditcall may just have that certain je ne sais quoi. "The main reason we have been able to grow in a self-funded way is that we have a rigorous process for deciding what activity to take on," Pedersen said.
Physicists squeeze extra data from superfast X-ray probes using machine learning
Chemical reactions could be probed in even greater detail using a method invented by Imperial researchers that better characterises ultrafast X-rays. X-rays can be used to investigate the structures of, and reactions between, molecules on very small scales and at high speed. To do this, scientists use free electron lasers (FELs) to create a train of X-ray pulses. This allows researchers to probe some of the fundamental processes in chemistry and biology – such as the mechanisms of photosynthesis and the reactions of amino acids, which are the building blocks of life. However, FELs are inherently unstable, meaning the properties of the resulting X-rays can vary from one pulse to the next.
Deep Learning lets Regulated Industries Refocus on Accuracy
Summary: Count yourself lucky if you're not in one of the regulated industries where regulation requires you to value interpretability over accuracy. This has been a serious financial weight on the economy but innovations in Deep Learning point a way out. As Data Scientists we tend to take as gospel that more accuracy is better. There are some practical limits to this. It may not be profitable to continue to work a model for many days or weeks when the improvement to be had is minor.
Apple reveals iOS 11 won't work on older iPhones and iPads
A number of current iPhone and iPad owners won't be able to use the next version of Apple's mobile operating system. The company announced iOS 11 at its latest developer conference, teasing its plans for the future of the iPhone. However, it's now been confirmed that several of the company's devices aren't in line for the big update. That means these devices will be stuck on iOS 10, the current version of the operating system, which will stop receiving important security and performance updates from Apple, leaving them potentially vulnerable to bugs and glitches. If you own an iPhone 5, iPhone 5C or fourth-generation iPad, now's the time to consider either upgrading to a newer model or switching to another platform, like Android or Windows.
iOS 11: Apple iPhones will stop people receiving texts while they are driving
Your iPhone is going to start hiding messages, for your own good. Apple has announced that iOS 11 will introduce a special mode – "Do Not Disturb for Driving" – that will look to stop people getting distracted by messages from their phone. The update will come in the new software, released this autumn, and is intended to avoid people endangering themselves and other road users by looking at their mobile. AI can predict whether a patient is going to die
The medical machines of the future will be able to predict when you will die by analysing images of your organs, according to a new study. Researchers have developed an artificial intelligence system that can tell which patients will die almost as accurately as trained specialists. It is the first study of its kind that uses medical images and artificial intelligence to show how machine can spot things some doctors can't. The findings could lead to earlier detection and treatment of a wide range of serious illnesses. An AI system developed by the University of Adelaide is able to predict whether a patient will die within five years by analysing data gathered from CT scans (pictured) of their chests.

WhatsApp is finally going to let people 'unsend' their messages very soon, say reports
WhatsApp's hotly anticipated'Recall' feature has moved a step closer to reality. The new functionality, which would allow you to delete things you've already sent, is expected to be enabled by the company imminently. Recall – also widely known as Unsend and Revoke – will work on all types of messages, including texts, images, videos, GIFs, documents, quoted messages and even Status replies, but only if they were sent within a five-minute window.
