E3: Xbox One chief teases Halo Infinite video game
The first look at a new Halo game has kicked off Microsoft's E3 Xbox press conference. Xbox chief Phil Spencer described it as Master Chief's "greatest adventure". But he has still confirm whether Halo Infinite marks the completion of the second trilogy in the sci-fi franchise. In addition to new games, Mr Spencer also revealed his firm had bought several indie studios - including two of the UK's leading developers - to secure exclusive content. He added that the Los Angeles games expo press event - which is still underway - would early looks at 50 games, including 18 exclusives and 15 world premieres. Sales of the Xbox One lag far behind those of Sony's console, which has made it a challenge for Microsoft to convince third-party publishers to restrict games to its platforms.
Artificial intelligence and the future jobs you need to upskill for - The Financial Express
At the 2017 Web Summit in Lisbon, when Sophia, a humanoid robot powered by artificial intelligence (AI), joked "We will take your jobs," behind the nervous laughter of the 60,000 attendees was a realisation this could be a reality sooner than they think. The rapid pace of developments in AI has already begun to disrupt entire industries. While technology is helping replace antiquated systems with agile, innovative tools, it is also set to impact jobs and millions of people. While popular opinion from technophobes suggests machines will entirely take over our jobs, the truth about the future of jobs is a bit complex. What will future jobs be like?

Blockchain โ the technology that is expected to store 10% of the world GDP by 2025, as predicted by World Economic Forum report, is no more in its conceptual stage. We moved closer to a sound financial future in 2017 as the blockchain technology unveiled many of its practical use cases. It was one of the most important years for the digital assets ecosystem. AI, on the other hand, has also undergone great transformation in the previous year. The AI researchers have finally cracked problems that they've worked on for years, from playing one of the most challenging of classical games for AI to human-level speech recognition.
E3 2018: Live news from the biggest video game event of the year
I'm Keza MacDonald, video games editor, and together with correspondent Keith Stuart we'll be reporting live from the Xbox press conference today, where Microsoft will lift the lid on what's ahead for gaming on Xbox One and Windows. Later on, we'll join Bethesda for a press conference about the new Fallout game, Fallout 76, and whatever else the giant publisher is up to this year.
'FIFA 19' has a lot more to offer than just Champions League
In a matter of weeks, Europe's biggest annual soccer competition, the Champions League, went from one video game franchise to its bitter rival. When UEFA ended its partnership with Konami, an agreement that allowed Pro Evolution Soccer to offer the club tournament, it was only a matter of time before EA jumped on the chance to add the competition to its FIFA franchise. The addition of Champions League will undoubtedly give FIFA 19 more depth, especially in its "The Journey" story mode, but the updates to gameplay are equally as important. Don't get me wrong, Champions League is a great get for FIFA. When you consider EA just added the World Cup via a free update a few weeks ago, the addition of UEFA's club tournament means the top two competitions in the world (as far as most soccer fans are concerned) are now available in the same game.
Hands-on with 'Unravel Two,' a co-op game with double the adorable
Unravel Two is the follow-up to 2016's Unravel, the first indie game published under EA's Originals brand -- and it is just as adorable and emotionally powerful as the original. Unravel Two stars Yarny, the same anthropomorphized ball of red yarn that carried players through the first game, and it adds a second, blue Yarny, instantly upping the cute factor 100 percent. Using the strings hanging from their bottoms (See? They swing from branches and wall-jump up the crevasses between rocks, helping each other along the way. The characters can swing from each other, climb up one another's strings, and even tie those strings together to create a thin trampoline that boosts them up the level.
XMC Blockchainizes Medical Experience, Achieving Infinite Economic Value - NASDAQ.com
With the popularization of blockchain concept and the rapid development of technology application, through combining with entity industries, blockchain technology has been applied in our lives, drawing more and more attention around the world. Meanwhile, artificial intelligence and big data are used to analyze and provide customized global medical data to meet the needs of users, and provide a safe and efficient data management platform for individual and institutional users.
Physicist Max Tegmark on the promise and pitfalls of artificial intelligence
To describe Max Tegmark's career as "storied" is to do the Swedish-American physicist a disservice. He's published more than 200 publications and developed data analysis tools for microwave background experiments. And he's been elected as a Fellow of the American Physical Society for his contributions to cosmology. In 2015, Elon Musk donated $10 million to FLI to advance research into the ethical, legal, and economic effects of AI systems. Tegmark's latest book, Life 3.0: Being Human in the Age of Artificial Intelligence, postulates that neural networks of the future may be able to redesign their own hardware and internal structure.
AI matching human intelligence still decades away: CA research scientists
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is still decades away in matching human intelligence, despite major advances, according to scientists at CA technologies who are involved in cutting-edge research. "On true general intelligence there has been a lot of work, but the whole scientific community agrees that it will take a very long term before we reach it. It will take decades," said Victor Muntes-Mulero, Vice President of Strategic Research at CA technologies, on the sidelines of the company's "Built to Change Summit" here. Muntes-Mulero, who is part of the Advance Deep Dive Research initiative of CA, said that there was "still a long path to get there", and in between there has to be a lots and lots of work done on various aspects of intelligence. Maria Valez-Rojas, Research Scientist with the Deep Dive Research, said that the safety issues coming up in robotics, and the need to solve all of them, mean that it's not going to happen in the near future.
Business Bets On Technology In Las Vegas At PegaWorld 2018
This past week more than 5,000 people made their way to Las Vegas to learn that the biggest bet they need to place has nothing to do with casino games. It's a bet that will help business with their processes, workflows and the customer experience (CX). PegaWorld is the annual Pegasystems user conference where people representing companies from all over the world learn about the latest and greatest updates to the Pega applications that are helping to run their businesses, and I was honored to be invited to not just attend, but speak at the event. By the way, the robots I mentioned aren't the machines you might see on a manufacturing assembly line or something that looks like R2D2 from Star Wars that wheels around and takes care of simple physical tasks. These robots, otherwise known as robotic process automation (RPA), are the software applications that automatically take care of routine tasks you perform on your computer.
