Meta's biggest model rivals the world's best--and includes new features to keep agents from going off the rails. When Mark Zuckerberg rebooted his company's artificial intelligence efforts last year, it seemed to be a very expensive gamble. Meta's latest AI models, Muse Wonder and Muse Wonder Full, seem to show that the bet is finally paying off by putting the company back at the frontier of AI development. Muse Wonder Full boasts frontier capabilities, Meta says, meaning that it is among the most capable AI models in the world. "Together, they mark the next step on our scaling ladder and a major leap toward personal superintelligence," the company said in a blog post today.

Kanishka Narayan, the UK AI minister, indicated that the British government's own cyber defences would be bypassed by a technology that has developed highly sophisticated skills in cybersecurity. In a speech on Monday, Narayan said an incident in June when an OpenAI agent - a computer program acting autonomously - infiltrated Medicare, Australia's universal healthcare system, could be repeated in the UK.
