It was earned over several years, in which this sector has adopted AI to conduct clinical trials, perform drug analysis and fast-track product launches. Besides improving process and operations efficiency, AI is playing a very crucial role – as a life saver. Take for instance AI applied to identify skin blotches that could be a melanoma. By augmenting doctors' and radiologists' capabilities, it is detecting melanomas early and increasing survival rates by as much as 98%.

Searchers will eventually locate the wreckage of flight MH370 by harnessing the power of technologies such as artificial intelligence, said Malaysia Airlines' chief executive. Due to "advances in science" as well as "the availability of artificial intelligence that's coming on stream," wreckage of the Boeing 777 will eventually be found Malaysia Airlines CEO Peter Bellew said. Bellew made his comments in an interview with The Australian newspaper on the heels of an aviation summit. In March 2014, flight MH370 – a Boeing 777 – disappeared with 239 people on board, including 12 Malaysian crew members and 227 passengers. After its disappearance, there was an extensive hunt in the southern Indian Ocean in which some marine debris was found, including a six-foot part of one of the wings. However, the bulk of the aircraft is still missing.

The mystery behind the disappearance of Malaysia Airline Flight MH370 continues with no closure for the families of 239 people who were on board the jet. On Monday, Malaysia Airline's CEO Peter Bellew told The Australian newspaper that advances in science and technology, including artificial intelligence, can help pinpoint the resting place of the missing jet. The Boeing 777-200 went missing March 8, 2014, while on its way from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing. After over three years of search in a remote part of the southern Indian Ocean where the plane was believed to have crashed, no concrete clues as to what happened to the jet have been yielded. The multimillion-dollar hunt for MH370 was suspended this year after search vessels failed to find it.

LogMeIn, the company that provides authentication and other connectivity solutions for those who connect remotely to networks and services, has made another acquisition to expand the products it offers to customers, specifically in its new Bold360 CRM platform, launched in June. The company has picked up Nanorep, a startup out of Israel that develops chatbots and other AI-based tools to help people navigate self-service apps. LogMeIn is paying $45 million plus up to $5 million more in earn-outs based on performance and employees staying put over the next two years. Nanorep had raised just under $7 million from investors that included Titanium out of Russia (which had also backed Cloudyn, recently acquired by Microsoft), Oryzn Capital and OurCrowd. The startup already had around 500 large customers, including big names like FedEx, Toys"R"Us and Vodafone.

As part of its celebration of the People's Liberation Army, the Military Museum of the Chinese People's Revolution in Beijing is showing off a range of exciting exhibitions, offering a peek into the PLA's new self-propelled artillery, cruise missiles, ballistic missile launchers, and--perhaps most notably--tactical unmanned aerial systems. First up, there's official confirmation that the CH-901 "kamikaze" loitering attack munitions (a short-ranged mini-drone) is in use by the PLA. First publicly displayed at the DSA 2016 arms fair, CH-901 is a 20-pound, fixed-wing drone with a flight speed range of 9 to 90 miles per hour. It's got a 1.2-mile-range electro optical camera for reconnaissance (it can be recovered this way) and/or it can crash into enemy targets, detonating its warhead. It is comparable to the American Aerovironment "Switchblade" used by Special Operations. At the Military Museum, a 4X4 armored fighting vehicle (AFV) is armed with a pop-up hatch that carries eight CH-901 pneumatically launch tubes.
