Google has developed an AI that can pick out someone's voice in a noisy room. By looking at people's faces when they're speaking, the firm has trained a machine to spot individual people as they talk and isolate their voice against background noise. Technology such as this could easily be used to spy on secret conversations. However, Google claims its applications are likely to be in clearing up speech in video calls and boosting the power of hearing aids. Google has developed an AI that can pick out someone's voice in a noisy room.

Now he has made it a reality by creating a giant humanoid inspired by the science fiction franchise. Developed by Sakakibara Kikai, a maker of farming machinery based in Gunma Prefecture, LW-Mononofu is an 8.5-meter (28-feet) tall, two-legged robot weighing in at more than 7 tons. It contains a cockpit with monitors and levers for the pilot to control the robot's arms and legs. "I think this can be turned into a business opportunity," said Nagumo, 44, noting the popularity of the iconic series that has spawned movies, manga, video games and more. Sakakibara Kikai has developed other robots and amusement machines alongside its main agriculture equipment business and rents them out for about ¥100,000 ($930) an hour, for kids' birthday parties and other entertainment, he said. The company has created robots as varied as the 3.4-meter tall Landwalker, the smaller Kid's Walker Cyclops and the MechBoxer boxing machine -- but the mighty Mononofu towers over them all and executes more complex movements.

China wants to be a step ahead from the US in the military UAV sphere. According to the reports, 'China's military drone programme is lifting up and moving to the next level,' says Chinese drone engineers. The innovative developments would include fleets of UAV's, boosting up the Chinese naval capabilities and swarm-intelligence systems that coordinates or integrates the operation between drones and other military aircraft. CH-5, also known as Rainbow-5, is one of the most advanced drone specimen that was first tested in 2015. This craft can fly up to 60 hours and has a 4000-mile range and the future enhancement of this UAV is expected to extend the range to 6000 miles.

With Microsoft being heavily involved in the news this week, I decided to recap their highs and quite possibly their lows that hit headline news across the world. Let's start with this - Early last week, Microsoft announced that they are planning on narrowing options for Office 365 tenancies by effectively ending the "native" Sharepoint Online public newsfeed - This change is set to take effect in June 2018. It's said that this change will affect the "public newsfeed" used by various organizations, which is also known as the "company feed" by many. As of June, the "public newsfeed" will become "read only" for organizations that are currently using it, which basically means that it can be read but not modified or updated. Having said that, Microsoft wants organizations to use Team News, Communication Sites or Yammer feeds as their main means for company posts and communication.

Better known for its dominance in China's insurance market, Ping An Insurance has been delving into the technology space with Ping An Technology. Speaking with CNBC's "Squawk Box," Ping An Technology CEO Ericson Chan said his company is the "high-tech core for the whole Ping An group," selling end-to-end tech services and conducting research and development in areas such as artificial intelligence, blockchain and cloud services. "AI is absolutely critical for us," Chan said, pointing to the group's automotive insurance business as an example of how consumers have benefited from Ping An's use of the technology. "If your car got (into) an accident, you can simply use our app to take a photo of the damaged car," Chan said. The photo is then cross-referenced with the company's database of "millions of photos" to recognize the damage level of the car.
