The monument, which represents thousands of years of culture, is in danger of crumbling. To combat this nearly impossible challenge, Intel has partnered with the China Foundation for Cultural Heritage Conservation to launch an innovative new approach to its restoration, using artificial intelligence and drones (the project was announced in April). Intel's team set out on a mission to preserve one of the most iconic landmarks on earth, embarking on an expedition as they reimagined preservation work on this monument with new tools: Intel Drones and Al. "By talking about these products and combining the drone tech with AI, and having that solution built on the Xeon processor, I can tell a very technical story to people who would be interested in that, Then creatively, it's also a super-appealing human interest story that can elevate their perception of Intel outside of the PC," Intel's VP, global creative director Teresa Herd told Fast Company about the project, which bridges technology with cultural heritage, a brand-building exercise with an act of corporate responsibility.

Consumers lack a full understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and are looking to businesses, government and academia for education, according to a FleishmanHillard report released today. The report highlights that 61% of all those surveyed believe the responsibility for educating the public about AI should be shared. The Future., surveyed consumers across the United States and the United Kingdom about their current sentiment on AI. It also asked a panel of 25 global experts in the AI field to provide their perspectives on the key areas where AI is impacting our world. The result is a snapshot of the public's attitudes on AI that analyzes common fears and opportunities, providing organizations with insights into how their audiences want them to engage going forward.

Artificial intelligence startup Racetrack.ai said it has secured $5million from a group of high net-worth individuals in a funding round that has valued it at $21 million. "With the fresh capital, we are now looking forward to announce our next overseas operation base in the USA, Mauritius and Singapore," Subrat Parida, founder of Bengaluru-based Racetrack.ai, "We further plan to raise our Series A by the end of this year." The 50-member startup, founded in 2015, offers two flagship products --a chatbot for sales and support, and a business accelerator that helps in better business planning and execution. "This move will help us delve into newer business verticals like retail, banking and healthcare. This boost in our physical presence will open new doors for us to partner with intercontinental brands and decision-makers while helping us to create global footprint in the AI industry," Parida said in a statement.

Reddit users have had their details stolen after a major cyber attack on the firm. A hacker has broken into a few of its systems and taken user data from them, it said. That included current email addresses and a 2007 database that contained old passwords. "Although this was a serious attack, the attacker did not gain write access to Reddit systems; they gained read-only access to some systems that contained backup data, source code and other logs," Reddit's founding engineer Christopher Slowe wrote. AUCKLAND, New Zealand – New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said Thursday the world is watching closely to see if recent optimism over North Korea leads to the elimination of its nuclear weapons program. In an interview with The Associated Press, Ardern also said New Zealand is among many nations concerned about the tit-for-tat trade war between China and the U.S. She said the idea of New Zealand becoming a republic is not a priority for her government. Ardern spoke with the AP at her home in Auckland as she prepared to return to the capital, Wellington, after six weeks of leave following the birth of her daughter, Neve. Ardern, 38, is just the second elected world leader in recent history to give birth while holding office.

Google is developing a version of its search engine that will conform to China's censorship laws, reports say. The company shut down the engine in 2010, complaining that free speech was being limited. But online news site The Intercept says Google has being working on a project code-named Dragonfly that will block terms like human rights and religion, a move sure to anger activists. One state-owned newspaper in China, Securities Daily, dismissed the report. "We provide a number of mobile apps in China, such as Google Translate and Files Go, help Chinese developers, and have made significant investments in Chinese companies like JD.com," it said.
