How Reggie Fils-Aimé got 'Wii Sports' included with the Wii
Mike Fukuda jumped in, speaking in Japanese. I watched Mr. Iwata's and Mr. Miyamoto's faces and then heard the translation into English. 'Wii Sports' does a much better job to achieve our objective of getting consumers to understand Wii immediately. And this minigame collection is not a fully formed game that will command full price in our market. We should think about how to best use this software to achieve our objectives.

Projects Visualizing Targeted Audiences Users of social networks can be passionate about sharing their political convictions, art projects, or business ventures. They often want to direct their social interactions to certain people in order to start collaborations or to raise awareness about issues they support. However, users generally have scattered, unstructured information about the characteristics of their audiences, making it difficult for them to deliver the right messages or interactions to the right people. Existing audience-targeting tools allow people to select potential candidates based on predefined lists, but the tools provide few insights about whether or not these people would be appropriate for a specific type of communication. We introduce an online tool, \textit{Hax}, to explore instead the idea of using interactive data visualizations to help people dynamically identify audiences for their different sharing efforts.
Gestural Control of Household Appliances for the Physically Impaired
Guesgen, Hans Werner (Massey University) | Kessell, Darren (Massey University)
Household appliances such as dishwashers, televisions and radios are an indispensable part of the modern household. Yet, people who have some form of physical impairment often find that they are unable to make use of these commonly available appliances, to the detriment of their lifestyle. This paper proposes a gesture interface for home appliances that can be used by people with physical impairments. Two simulated gesture controlled appliances are developed and evaluated by physically impaired people. The results show that this interface is able to allow physically impaired people to make use of modern appliances by gesture.
