Talent Garden's Lorena Pérez on company culture and AI in HR

#artificialintelligence

Earlier this year, Talent Garden hired Spain's Lorena Pérez as its new chief people officer. With more than two decades of experience in HR, Pérez plans to use her expertise to scale Talent Garden in Europe while coming up with ways to retain and motivate the company's talent. She discussed the importance of conserving company culture while a company scales, and some of the ways she uses technology to improve her work and efficiency in HR. I come from the HR world, of course! I've been working for multinational companies, mainly creating and developing HR and people departments. I have more than 20 years of experience now, with my first relevant experience being in a communications company in the tech sector.

Intel Ireland to run new artificial intelligence incubator programme

#artificialintelligence

Chipmaker Intel has announced plans to establish the Republic's first artificial intelligence for computer vision incubator programme. The technology giant, which employs 4,900 people locally, is to run the programme at Talent Garden Dublin, the co-working campus based at Dublin City University's innovation campus, DCU Alpha. The move coincides with a trend by Intel in recent years to shift focus away from personal computing, with which it is synonymous, towards newer technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT). Intel Ireland said in a statement that it is "looking to identify and enable an indigenous cohort of innovators, who will take part in what will be a structured programme of technical guidance and support". News of the company's AI-focused programme was announced as Talent Garden Dublin officially opened its doors. The new Dublin campus provides flexible work space for freelancers, tech start-ups and corporate innovation labs, with capacity of about 400.
