Mission Overview: Systematic Underwater Biogeochemical Science And Exploration Analog [Infographic]
NASA is diving deep into the ocean near Hawaii to learn more about exploring deep space. The idea is to use environments on Earth that are similar to environments that exist in places like Saturn's moon Enceladus. Not too long ago the NASA spacecraft Cassini took pictures of the distant moon that showed plumes of water shooting out into space from beneath the surface. These plumes show that somewhere beneath the surface of the moon is geologically active. The combination of heat and water makes this location one of the most likely to support life.
