Assassin's Creed Mirage preview: Finally, a return to stealth roots
Assassin's Creed Mirage is a dream for stealth kings. People who loved Sam Fisher in Splinter Cell or simply the old Assassin's Creeds will have a tremendous fun in beautiful 9th century Baghdad, our recent hands-on with the game revealed. We throw coins, briefly distract a guard, dart around corners. In that game, we are a bear of a man, with arms like tree trunks as we swing the axe and make the English army tremble. Valhalla also had its moments, but in Mirage there is much more of a hand-built feel.
'Assassin's Creed' and 'Splinter Cell' are coming to Oculus
Facebook has snagged two made-for-VR Ubisoft titles. Virtual reality versions of Assassin's Creed and Splinter Cell are coming to Oculus. Facebook made the announcement during its Connect event today. Ubisoft will develop the VR versions of both games. They'll be built from the ground up but will stay true to both franchises.
Video Game Rumors: Walmart Website Lists 'Rage 2,' 'Borderlands 3' Ahead Of E3
With a month to go before the massive E3 video game trade show, some potential announcements may have been spoiled by a retailer leak. A series of big-name video game sequels, some of which were previously unannounced, popped up on Walmart's Canadian website Wednesday morning and brought to the public's attention by a Twitter user. At the time of writing, the listings are still visible on the website, though they could get taken down at any moment. Each game's retail page is accompanied by a black, placeholder image instead of actual box art. Some of the titles, like "The Last of Us 2" and "Final Fantasy 7 Remake," were previously announced and could have major presences at the upcoming E3 trade show. Major video game companies will get together in Los Angeles in June to announce their newest, biggest upcoming releases.

Tom Hardy's 'Splinter Cell' Movie Sounds Like It's All But Abandoned The Games Entirely
Ubisoft finally managed to release their Assassin's Creed movie this past December, but their Splinter Cell movie has been sitting in development hell for quite a long while now. That said, the project still exists, and Collider spoke with producer Basil Iwanyk about it and things got…a little weird. The strangest part comes when Iwanyk is asked about the difference between Assassin's Creed and Splinter Cell, and if the financials of the former will affect how the latter moves forward. The story of the financial success of Assassin's Creed is yet to be told because we do live in an international world; it's still rolling out. Assassin's Creed had a very specific world to it and a very specific storyline, character, all that stuff.
