software toolkit
Reviews: Bayesian Layers: A Module for Neural Network Uncertainty
This work was debated controversially among the reviewers. They all agreed that the work was presented well, and both the idea of the paper and how it is realised as a software interface are novel (or at least a clear improvement over existing frameworks). Software packages generally struggle to get accepted at major conferences. I would thus like to throw my own vote in for this paper. It is true that the community has not yet developed a good and consistent way to evaluate software contributions, in particular vis-a-vis theoretical and empirical papers. But it is high time that our community becomes more professional in software development.
Get connected: When CAE Simulation Meets Artificial Intelligence
Use of CAE simulation and Artificial Intelligence is rapidly becoming essential for the manufacturing industry as well as academic research. This one-day event showcases a software toolkit developed by researchers at WMG, which enables right-first-time capability to reduce engineering changes during installation, commissioning and production. Our agenda includes high-profile speakers from Mathworks, a case study from an automotive OEM, and a series of technical sessions providing a deep dive into the software toolkit and how it could be applied to your manufacturing challenges. Industry practitioners and researchers in manufacturing which strive to design, optimise and control assembly systems with'real and deformable' components. Unfortunately this has failed to load correctly.
Artificial intelligence is growing so fast, even Google's co-founder is surprised
Alphabet Inc. has been one of the world's biggest spenders on artificial intelligence. The advancements have even surprised company co-founder Sergey Brin. Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Brin said that when he was in charge of Alphabet's research group he didn't pay much attention to a team working on artificial intelligence. Now the technology, operated by a division of the company called Google Brain, touches nearly every piece of its business, including translation, photography and advertising. "This revolution," Brin said, "has been very profound and definitely surprised me even though I was right in there and could throw paper clips at them."

Backed by Amazon and Paul Allen, KITT.AI launches first 'hotword detection' software toolkit - GeekWire
KITT.AI wants to help developers add voice activation features to almost any device for free. The Seattle startup today unveiled its first software toolkit called Snowboy, which lets developers add verbal "hotword detection" to devices. It's the same technology that tech giants like Amazon and Apple use for products like Alexa and Siri, but now KITT.AI is enabling anyone to easily add the functionality to their own hardware. The idea is to let users talk to devices in order to "wake" or "command" them to do something. Snowboy uses deep neural network technology that learns and recognizes unique patterns in voices.
