The latest Amazon Echo Show 8 returns to an all-time low of 90
If you're already onboard with Alexa and have decided you want a smart display, a new deal on Amazon's latest Echo Show 8 may be of interest. The 8-inch display is currently down to 90 at Amazon, Target, Best Buy and other retailers, which matches the lowest price we've seen since the device was unveiled last September. Amazon normally sells the smart display for 150, though we saw it drop to 105 for much of the holiday season. Amazon's offer also includes a Sengled color smart bulb for no extra cost. That bulb is compatible with the Matter smart home standard, and we recommend a similar model in our guide to the best smart lights. This matches the best price we've tracked for the latest iteration of Amazon's 8-inch smart display and includes a smart bulb for no extra cost.
Amazon's Echo Show 5 falls to $40 in smart display sale
Amazon's Echo Show smart displays with Alexa voice control are already a good value next to the competition, but a big smart display sale is making them even cheaper. The Show 5 is the least expensive, on sale right now for just $40, or 53 percent off the regular price -- a great deal for Alexa capability with a display. And if you need a larger screen, the Echo Show 8 is priced at just $60 (54 percent off) and the Echo Show 10 is $160, for a savings of 36 percent. The Echo Show 5 scored a very solid 85 score in our Engadget review, as it's small size is ideal if don't have a ton of space on your desk, nightstand or countertop. It has a 5.5-inch, 960 x 480 resolution display that shows things like weather forecasts, calendar events, photos and more. The 2MP camera can be used to video chat with friends and family, but it can also be used as a makeshift security camera of sorts.
Amazon Hardware Event 2023: Alexa, Echo Hub, Echo Frames, Eero, Fire TV
Every fall, Amazon holds a "Devices and Services" media event where it unleashes a flood of new gadgets and software into the world. At the 2022 edition, Amazon announced a Kindle with a stylus, a robot dog, and a refreshed line of Echoes and Eeros, among other smart home gadgets. This year, the company was eager to prove that it hasn't been left behind by its rivals' recent advances in artificial intelligence and conversational interfaces. Executives showed off a smarter version of Alexa that's been given an AI boost, as well as new smart home products that harness Amazon's computer vision, machine intelligence, and face recognition technologies. There were some stumbling blocks during the presentation, but here are the highlights of what Amazon announced today.

Amazon's Echo Show 8 drops to $75 in new smart display sale
If you missed the chance to buy the Echo Show 8 when it was discounted to $75 at the start of April, Amazon has once again reduced the smart display to that price. The $55 cut means the Echo Show 8 is only $5 more than it was during Black Friday last year. If you've been eyeing one of Amazon's larger smart displays, the retailer has also reduced the price of the Echo Show 10 and Echo Show 15. You can get the company's largest smart display for $214.98, down from $279.98. Meanwhile, the Echo Show 10 is currently priced at $185.

The best Prime Day deals for Amazon devices that you can get
There's arguably no better time than Prime Day to buy a piece of tech made by Amazon. You'll find most of Amazon's gadgets are on sale for Prime Day, including the latest models of things like the Kindle Paperwhite and the Echo Show 8. Also, Amazon-owned devices, like Eero routers and Blink security cameras, are cheaper than ever, too. Here are the best deals on Amazon devices you can get for Prime Day 2022. Amazon's Echo smart speaker has dropped to $60. It earned a score of 89 from us for its solid audio quality, attractive design and its inclusion of a 3.5mm audio jack.
Amazon Echo Show 8 (2nd Gen)
The new $130 Echo Show 8 takes the top rank as the greatest Alexa smart display, with the Echo Show 10 being more novelty than necessity (that revolving screen doesn't support the $250 price tag). The second iteration of Amazon's mid-sized smart speaker with a display, which was released this month, combines some of the greatest features from the Show 10 (13-megapixel camera, digital zoom, and security camera functions) and compresses them into a more manageable size. The Echo Show 8 has a small enough footprint to sit on a bedside table or a kitchen counter. The Show 8 (available in Charcoal and Glacier White) offers the most bang (and screen size) for your buck, with a virtually identical design to its predecessor (same display, same speakers), but with a bit more behind the hood, including a new octo-core processing and a beefed-up camera. You can still watch shows, listen to music, control your smart home, send out announcements to your family, and check in on friends and family, but you can now zoom with a 13-megapixel camera.

Amazon Echo Show 15 review: A big device for a small audience
Amazon's Echo Show line has been around for four years, but until now the screen sizes have ranged from five to 10 inches, making it ideal as a multipurpose bedside alarm or a companion screen in the kitchen. The 15-inch Echo Show 15, available now, is by far the largest size Amazon has attempted, and it's also notably the first Echo Show you can mount on your wall. Because of that, the company is betting some people will use it not just as a digital photo frame, but also as a family bulletin board. If that's specifically what you want out of a smart display, the Echo Show 15 could be a niche but very fitting match. Somehow, though, we suspect that's not most people.

Here are the best Amazon Echo deals right now
When it comes to smart speakers, Amazon has a slew of voice-enabled Echo devices to choose from, one for practically every occasion. Maybe you want to add Alexa to a spare bedroom, for example, or you're looking for an Echo device that will allow you to easily manage your lighting or other smart home devices. Regardless of the reason, this is one of the best times of the year to pick up an Echo device, even if Black and Cyber Monday are behind us. Last year, Amazon released the fourth generation of the Echo Dot, which looks more like a sphere than an actual dot. But if you prefer the previous design, don't worry: Amazon has not discontinued the third-gen Echo Dot, which still retains the familiar dot shape and is currently on sale for just $19.99 at Amazon.

The best smart home gadgets you can buy right now
The smart home has never been more accessible, with more affordable entry points than ever. From security cameras to smart light bulbs, pretty much any internet-connected device that you can control via an app is enough to get you started on your smart home journey. But before you dive in, we advise taking a few preliminary steps. For one, don't try to outfit your entire smart home in one go. Not only can this be quite expensive, we think it's generally best to buy just one or two items first to see if you like them. From there, you can figure out if you want to buy more devices, making sure that they're compatible with one another.
