Consensus Tracking Control of Multi-agent Systems with A Time-varying Reference State under Binary-valued Communication

arXiv.org Artificial Intelligence

This paper investigates the problem of consensus tracking control of discrete time multi-agent systems under binary-valued communication. Different from most existing studies on consensus tracking, the transmitted information between agents is the binary-valued. Parameter identification with binary-valued observations is applied to the estimation of neighbors'states and the tracking control is designed based on the estimation. Two Lyapunov functions are constructed to deal with the strong coupling of estimation and control. Compared with consensus problems under binary-valued communication, a reference state is required for consensus tracking control. Two scenarios of the time-varying reference state are studied respectively. (1) The reference state is asymptotically convergent. An online algorithm that performs estimation and control simultaneously is proposed, in which the estimation step size and the control gain are decreasing with time. By this algorithm, the multi-agent system is proved to achieve consensus tracking with convergence rate O(1/k^{\epsilon} ) under certain conditions. (2) The reference state is bounded, which is less conservative than that in the first case. In this case, the estimation step size and control gain are designed to be constant. By this algorithm, all the followers can reach to a neighborhood of the leader with an exponential rate. Finally, simulations are given to demonstrate theoretical results.

Revolutionizing Single Cell Analysis: The Power of Large Language Models for Cell Type Annotation

arXiv.org Artificial Intelligence

In recent years, single cell RNA sequencing has become a widely used technique to study cellular diversity and function. However, accurately annotating cell types from single cell data has been a challenging task, as it requires extensive knowledge of cell biology and gene function. The emergence of large language models such as ChatGPT and New Bing in 2023 has revolutionized this process by integrating the scientific literature and providing accurate annotations of cell types. This breakthrough enables researchers to conduct literature reviews more efficiently and accurately, and can potentially uncover new insights into cell type annotation. By using ChatGPT to annotate single cell data, we can relate rare cell type to their function and reveal specific differentiation trajectories of cell subtypes that were previously overlooked. This can have important applications in understanding cancer progression, mammalian development, and stem cell differentiation, and can potentially lead to the discovery of key cells that interrupt the differentiation pathway and solve key problems in the life sciences. Overall, the future of cell type annotation in single cell data looks promising and the Large Language model will be an important milestone in the history of single cell analysis.

Dynamic Interactional And Cooperative Network For Shield Machine

arXiv.org Artificial Intelligence

The shield machine (SM) is a complex mechanical device used for tunneling. However, the monitoring and deciding were mainly done by artificial experience during traditional construction, which brought some limitations, such as hidden mechanical failures, human operator error, and sensor anomalies. To deal with these challenges, many scholars have studied SM intelligent methods. Most of these methods only take SM into account but do not consider the SM operating environment. So, this paper discussed the relationship among SM, geological information, and control terminals. Then, according to the relationship, models were established for the control terminal, including SM rate prediction and SM anomaly detection. The experimental results show that compared with baseline models, the proposed models in this paper perform better. In the proposed model, the R2 and MSE of rate prediction can reach 92.2\%, and 0.0064 respectively. The abnormal detection rate of anomaly detection is up to 98.2\%.

A Survey of Hybrid Human-Artificial Intelligence for Social Computing

arXiv.org Artificial Intelligence

Along with the development of modern computing technology and social sciences, both theoretical research and practical applications of social computing have been continuously extended. In particular with the boom of artificial intelligence (AI), social computing is significantly influenced by AI. However, the conventional technologies of AI have drawbacks in dealing with more complicated and dynamic problems. Such deficiency can be rectified by hybrid human-artificial intelligence (H-AI) which integrates both human intelligence and AI into one unity, forming a new enhanced intelligence. H-AI in dealing with social problems shows the advantages that AI can not surpass. This paper firstly introduces the concept of H-AI. AI is the intelligence in the transition stage of H-AI, so the latest research progresses of AI in social computing are reviewed. Secondly, it summarizes typical challenges faced by AI in social computing, and makes it possible to introduce H-AI to solve these challenges. Finally, the paper proposes a holistic framework of social computing combining with H-AI, which consists of four layers: object layer, base layer, analysis layer, and application layer. It represents H-AI has significant advantages over AI in solving social problems.
