Colombian court rules Meta was wrong to bar porn star's Instagram account
Colombian court rules Meta was wrong to bar porn star's Instagram account Colombia's highest court has ruled that Meta violated a porn star's right to freedom of expression when it deleted her Instagram account. The South American nation's Constitutional Court said on Friday that the tech firm had removed Esperanza Gómez's account without a clear and transparent justification and without offering similar treatment to other, similar accounts. The 45-year-old, whose account had more than five million followers, is one of Colombia's best known adult content actresses. Meta argued in the case that she had violated its rules on nudity. The company, which also owns Facebook and WhatsApp, did not immediately react to the ruling.
Mr Deepfakes can make you a porn star
It would be naive to assume that, because you've never performed in a porn video, you will never appear in one. In fact, these days, anyone with access to an image of your face can, in a matter of seconds produce an extremely convincing video in which you appear as a porn star. One man who has done this countless times, to countless women, without their consent, is one Mr Deepfakes. As the founder of the most prominent deepfake porn website in existence, he has chosen to remain anonymous. He built the burgeoning community "from scratch" as a side hustle, after deepfake porn was banned from Reddit in 2018.
How to avoid 'Tinder Swindlers': 'Boy Meets World' star-turned-adult actress Maitland Ward on 'red flags'
Fox News Flash top entertainment and celebrity headlines are here. Check out what clicked this week in entertainment. Netflix's viral true-crime documentary "The Tinder Swindler" had millions of viewers crying foul after it began streaming on the platform Feb. 2. The mind-bending story from director Felicity Morris, who also produced the Emmy-winning series, "Don't F**k with Cats: Hunting an Internet Killer," chronicles the depths a Tinder user by the name of Shimon Hayut, now 31, would go to to charm women around the world into loaning him money – to the tune of an estimated $10 million. Hayut posed as Simon Leviev and claimed to be the son of a diamond mogul on the popular dating app. It was only when a group of women banded together to expose Leviev that his scheme was foiled, and he was ultimately convicted of fraud, theft and forgery.
Screen Actors Guild pledges to fight AI-driven face-swapping porn
The slow war against AI-powered, face-swapping pornography continues. The Screen Actors Guild, the labor union representing the biggest names in film and television, says it's "fighting back" against deepfakes, videos that superimpose actors' faces onto the bodies of porn stars. SAG-AFTRA president Gabrielle Carteris wrote the following in the group's monthly magazine, as spotted by Deadline: "We are closely watching the development of so-called deepfakes. This artificial intelligence tool has the ability to steal our images and superimpose them onto another person's body in potentially unpleasant and inappropriate digital forms. SAG-AFTRA is focused on these emerging processes and fighting back when the technology infringes on our members' rights."
'Deepfakes' Will Create Hollywood's Next Sex Tape Scare
Sexually explicit videos featuring these and a number of other female celebrities have surfaced online in recent days, foreshadowing what could be Hollywood's next big sex-tape nightmare. Only this time, the videos in question haven't been stolen by hackers, or commissioned by porn studios, starring barely-lookalikes. Instead, these new clips have been made with the help of artificial intelligence (AI) technology capable of swapping the faces of porn stars with those of famous actresses and other celebrities. These so-called Deepfakes -- a combination of'fake' and'deep learning' -- first started popping up online in December, when a Reddit user began to post explicit videos seemingly featuring celebrities online. The user in question told Motherboard at the time that he was using images found by Google image search as well as stock photos and YouTube videos to "train" AI algorithms, and essentially give them an idea of how a celebrity's face would look like in any given moment.

Fake porn is the new fake news, and the internet isn't ready
Ever since Facebook finally admitted to having a fake news problem, it's been trying to fix it. It hired thousands of people to help block fake ads, pledged to work with third-party fact-checking organizations and is busy building algorithms to detect fake news. But even as it attempts to fight back against fraudulent ads and made-up facts, another potential fake news threat looms on the horizon: Artificially generated fake video. Motherboard recently uncovered a disturbing new trend on Reddit, where users create AI-generated pornographic clips by swapping other people's faces onto porn stars. The outlet first reported on the phenomenon a month ago when Reddit user "deepfakes" posted a video of Gal Gadot's face swapped onto a porn star's body (he's since created more fake porn with other celebrities).
Algorithm puts Gal Gadot's face onto porn star's body
A troubling new video that appears to show Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot performing in a short adult film has shed startling light on what could happen when machine learning falls into the wrong hands. The video, created by Reddit user deepfakes, features a woman who takes on the rough likeness of Gadot, with the actor's face overlaid on another person's head. It was made by training a machine learning algorithm on stock photos, Google search images, and YouTube videos of the star – and experts warn the technique is'no longer rocket science.' The algorithm was trained on real porn videos and images of Gal Gadot, allowing it to create an approximation of the actor's face that can be applied to the moving figure in the video. As all of this is freely available information, it could be done without that person's consent.
Pornhub is using machine learning to automatically tag its 5 million videos
Artificial intelligence has proven to be a dab hand at recognizing what's going on in photos and videos, but the datasets it's usually trained on are pretty genteel. Not so for Pornhub, which announced today that it's using machine learning to automatically catalog its videos. The site is starting small, deploying facial recognition software that will detect 10,000 individual porn stars and tag them in footage. It plans to scan all 5 million of its videos "within the next year," and then move onto more complicated territory: using the software to identify the specific categories videos belong to, like "public" and "blonde." In a press statement, Pornhub VP Corey Price said the company was joining the trend of firms using AI to "expedite antiquated processes."
