There's one big reason I'll choose the Pixel 11 Pro Fold over the Galaxy Z Fold 8

Both the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 and the Pixel 11 Pro Fold are great phones. Every foldable phone in the US has a niche. But the Pixel has something the Z Fold 8 doesn't, and it's a game-changer. As Google launched its new lineup of Pixel devices in New York, I was chilling in Myrtle Beach, enjoying a long-overdue vacation.

Google Pixel 11 review: A lot of phone for a little more money

Engadget

Google didn't reinvent the three-camera array on the back of the Pixel 11 this year; it's just a slight tweak to the one on the Pixel 10. The 13-megapixel ultra-wide camera (with an f/2.2 aperture) and the 5x, 10.8-megapixel telephoto camera (with an f/3.1 aperture) are identical to last year. The main sensor is still rated at 48 megapixels this year, too, though its sensor is significantly larger this year. The 10.5-megapixel front-facing camera is identical to last year, as well. Overall, those hardware changes are minimal, but there's still a key new feature here. The Pixel 11 camera can shoot in up to 30x "Super Zoom" mode, up from the 20x you could squeeze out of the Pixel 10.

I compared Google's pricier Pixel 11 series to Samsung's Galaxy lineup - here's the better value now

Pixel 11 prices may rise by $100 or more across the series, challenging their reputation for value. Samsung often wins on hardware, while Pixel leads on software. Pixel Drops and early Android updates are the real value. Google's Pixel phones have, for quite some time, been premium enough to compete with Samsung's best phones, but they were usually a bit cheaper.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Review: The Privacy Screen

WIRED

Now I wish every smartphone had a built-in privacy display. Privacy Display is very useful. Some AI features are useless. Did you privately ask ChatGPT how to bring up nonmonogamy with your husband? Your commuting neighbor on the train snuck a glance at your phone, guffawed internally, and blasted it on X with a satisfied smirk.

OnePlus 15 Review: A Phone With Two-Day Battery Life

WIRED

It doesn't look or feel quite like a OnePlus phone, but with speed and battery life like this, who cares? Doesn't get too warm while gaming. Software update policy still doesn't match that of Apple, Google, or Samsung. Cameras are still a step below the top dogs. OnePlus has been churning out Android smartphones for over a decade, yet it still feels like the company is fighting an uphill battle to get a foothold in the US.
