The official launch date for Windows 11 26H1, confirmed
PCWorld reports that Microsoft will launch Windows 11 26H1 specifically for Snapdragon X2 systems by April 2026, breaking the usual update cycle. The Samsung Galaxy S8 has an official launch date
Samsung has revealed that its next flagship smartphone will launch on 29 March. The Galaxy S8 had been expected to make its first official appearance at MWC 2017, but the company decided to delay it because of the fallout surrounding the disastrous Galaxy Note 7. The Galaxy S8 is heavily rumoured to be an 5.8-inch handset, though a 6.2-inch S8 is also likely to launch alongside it. Both phones will allegedly feature an "infinity display", said to cover 83% of their front panel, enabling Samsung to keep them relatively compact. They'll also come with an iris-scanner, a 12-megapixel rear camera and 8-megapixel selfie camera, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. The S8 and S8 are also expected to be IP68 dust- and water-resistant and support wireless charging, as well as feature a new AI virtual assistant called Bixby capable of speaking up to eight different languages.
Nintendo 64 Came Out 20 Years Ago. Here's How a Teenaged Me Reviewed It
Today is the 20th anniversary of the launch of the Nintendo 64 in the United States. I could try to think back and remember what it was like to play the groundbreaking Nintendo console, with its 3-D graphics and analog stick controller, for the first time. But why rely on hazy memories, when I could just dig up what I wrote about it at the time? September 29, 1996 was the official launch date of the Nintendo 64 game console in the United States, not to mention Super Mario 64, the first 3-D Mario adventure (and one of the earliest free-roaming, polygon-based 3-D action games period). With the concept of a "launch date" not yet fully ingrained into the gaming industry, more than one store started selling their Nintendo 64 machines the second the shipments arrived, as early as September 26.
