Hardware maker Nvidia is ramping up its efforts to make a stand in the Metaverse. On Tuesday, the company revealed a new set of developer tools focused on metaverse environments, including new AI capabilities, simulations, and other creative assets. Creators utilizing the Omniverse Kit, along with apps such as Nucleus, Audio2Face and Machinima, will be able to access the new upgrades. Nvidia says one primary function of the tools will be to help enhance building "accurate digital twins and realistic avatars." Quality of metaverse interaction is a hot topic in the industry, as developers and users ponder the quality of experiences over the quantity.

Businesses and developers will be able to make their services available inside Messenger by way of Chat SDK. Powered by artificial intelligence, chatbots are computer software programs that mimic human conversations. Facebook says three times as many messages are sent on its platforms than SMS, with 60 billion messages a day sent and received on Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp. The news comes just weeks after Microsoft devoted a large chunk of its Build developer conference keynote to what its executives called "conversations as a platform". AI is already used in Messenger, and can do things like recognise faces in pictures to suggest potential recipients.

Facebook Messenger users will be able to talk with automated bots using a new set of developer tools, the social networking company announced Tuesday during its F8 conference in San Francisco. The new Messenger Platform Send/Receive API will let developers build bots that can converse with users and do things like let them purchase items and get the latest news. It gives developers a set of user interface tools that will allow them to create buttons inside a Messenger conversation that guides users on what a bot can do, along with handling text conversation. The tools are available in beta to developers Tuesday, with companies like shopping app Spring, CNN, and weather bot Poncho providing Facebook bots to users at launch. The company released a free toolkit to help developers make bots that work across a variety of platforms, including Messenger competitors GroupMe and Telegram.
