Google's Nest Audio smart speaker is on sale for $80 right now

Engadget

Google's Nest Audio has been one of our favorite smart speakers since it came out almost a year ago. When compared to other $100 devices, it packs a lot of value and will be especially attractive for those who already use the Google Assistant a lot. But now you can grab the speaker for even less because Best Buy and B&H Photo have the Nest Audio for only $80. While we did see the speaker drop to $75 ahead of Amazon Prime Day back in June, this is the best price we've seen since then. The Nest Audio is Google's answer to Amazon's Echo and Apple's HomePod mini and it holds its own against both of those devices. We like its attractive, minimalist design and you have five colors to choose from, so you'll likely find one that fits well with the rest of your home decor.

With Amazon Prime Day only a few days away, there are a bunch of early deals that Prime members can take advantage of. Two Echo Dots will cost you only $50 right now, while the Echo Show 5 is down to a record low of $45. Non-Prime members can grab the Nest Audio smart speaker for $75, the Beats Flex earbuds for only $39 or save $200 on the MacBook Pro M1. Here are the best tech deals from this week that you can still buy today. Prime members can get two 4th-gen Echo Dots for $50 when using the code PDDOT2PK at checkout.

Google's Nest Audio smart speaker hits new low of $75

Engadget

At $100, Google's impressive Nest Audio was already good value for money, but a 25 percent discount has now brought it down to an even more affordable $75. Perhaps, it's a case of Google countering Amazon's early Prime Day deals on Echo speakers with a new all-time low price. Whatever the reasons behind the latest promo, it's always nice to have another option when shopping for tech. The Nest Audio is a solid bet for music fans on a budget. As we noticed in our tests, it's slightly louder than Apple's HomePod Mini and packs stronger bass, too. Inside the speaker is a 75mm woofer and 19mm tweeter, while the Google Home and Nest Mini make do with single drivers.

Google unveils Pixel 5, Chromecast and Nest Audio smart speaker

The Guardian

Google has announced four new additions to its own-brand hardware line including two new Pixel smartphones, a new Chromecast and Nest Audio smart speaker. The Pixel 5 is Google's new top phone, which slots in above the well received but heavily delayed Pixel 4a and the new Pixel 4a 5G, which also launches today. Announced during a live-streamed event, the new Pixel 5 replaces the Pixel 4 with a cheaper, simplified design, ditching its face recognition system for the older fingerprint scanner mounted in the back of the device. The new phone has a 6in 90Hz OLED screen with a selfie camera poking through a hole in the top left and a dual-camera setup with wide and ultra-wide lenses on the back, but no optical telephoto zoom camera. Differing from top-spec rivals, the Pixel 5 has Qualcomm's Snapdragon 765G mid-range processor, rather than the Snapdragon 865 used in the latest Samsung and OnePlus phones.
