iPhone expert tests Apple Intelligence features on iOS 18 - then AI does something odd with his text messages

Daily Mail - Science & tech

Apple's Mail got a little smarter with Apple Intelligence, adding functions including Priority Messages and Smart Reply - although in all honesty, it's still not the best email app out there. Messaging apps and email now have summaries auto-generated from content - although they are often unusual. Many of the summaries seem to bear little relation to what is actually in my Inbox - one simply said, 'Saucy line needs reordering'. Another said that Chris who I was emailing had failed his driving test and then got a speeding ticket - which would have been difficult after failing the test - when Chris had not taken any form of driving test. Priority Messages picks messages you might be interested in and places them at the top of your inbox (they're sorted by, for example, whether they sound time-sensitive).

How to use Memories in Photos for iOS

Just tap any desired Memory in the list to see its contents. Each Memory has a thumbnail image, creation date and title based on location the photos were taken, what's on them (portraits, landscapes etc.) and other parameters.

Apple Photos is now the same as Google Photos except for one key feature

#artificialintelligence

Apple just introduced some fancy new features for its Photos app that will become available when iOS 10 is released this fall. Much of the new functionality in Photos will be familiar to anyone who's used Google Photos. Both apps can use smart artificial intelligence to recognize different parts of your photos and videos, like people, locations, animals, and even objects, so you can search for them to find them quickly without having to sort through the thousands of photos you've taken. Both apps also batch together contextually relevant photos and videos of specific people, trips, locations, periods of time, or "topics," like at the beach, to make "movies" of your memories. So, that's great, Apple Photos has the great functionality of Google Photos, except for one key feature. Apple Photos in iOS 10 still won't have a free cloud storage option like Google Photos does.
