Will Artificial Intelligence Be Able to Surpass Humans in Every Aspect?

#artificialintelligence

Artificial intelligence has made tremendous strides in recent decades. Voice recognition, automatic language translation, and complex decision-making are just a few of the human-exclusive tasks that can now be done by machines. However, artificial intelligence is still constrained in numerous ways. Even though machines are very good at processing a lot of data and making decisions based on patterns, they still can't compare to how creative and intuitive people are. Scientists and researchers, on the other hand, can come up with novel concepts that alter the world, while artists and writers can produce works of literature and art that are one-of-a-kind and illuminating.

Body recognition software can spot people by their physical shape and clothes

Daily Mail - Science & tech

Cutting-edge body recognition software which identifies people based on their physical shape and even clothes is set to be rolled out next year. Everyday facial recognition technology has been refined to the extent that cameras can match an image in a database to someone's height, width, hair and apparel. This will allow an individual to be identified even if their face is obscured - by a balaclava, for example. Or they will still be able to be spotted if part of their body is hidden by another person or an object. Technology titan NEC Global is pioneering the body recognition software and hopes to apply it to busy security-controlled sites such as sports stadiums and airports.

2018 Is The Year Of Artificial Intelligence Transformation From RPA To SMEs

#artificialintelligence

Suddenly it's all about small- and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) as this oft-overlooked sector of the global economy now takes center stage. In the FinTech world, a swathe of products are being launched to suit the sector, be that blockchain-based ideas to speed up invoice payment or access to capital funds that were previously unavailable. Now the AI world is joining in with promises of predicting consumer behavior geared towards SMEs who have to compete with tech giants that mop up the best data scientists and their algorithms. The current state of play means SMEs find it hard to compete with the cost, complexity and consulting taken by big enterprises. So step forward tech company Xineoh that says it has developed a platform for predicting customer behaviour with AI'which allows businesses to out-predict their competition thus allowing them to maximize efficiency and customer satisfaction'. Its so-called bespoke AI solutions on Xineoh's platform can be implemented rapidly without the cost, complexity and consulting required by other methods.

Four Unethical Uses Of AI In Recruitment

#artificialintelligence

Artificial intelligence (AI) is disrupting every industry, and the recruitment market is no exception. By lowering the cost of prediction, AI offers cheaper, faster, more efficient ways to connect people to jobs, as well as the promise of unlocking human potential. This is a big opportunity. In a world where most people are unhappy with their careers and many organizations complain about their talent gaps - for example, a recent ManpowerGroup report noted that 40% of global companies are experiencing critical talent shortages, the highest figure in a decade - technology can help us bridge the gap between supply and demand and make the job market less inefficient, just like dating apps have managed in the market of love. However, as with any technological innovation it is important to understand the ethical implications of using AI for attracting and selecting employees.
