Fortnite Season 6: Teaser hints at cube fate and gives sneak peak ahead of imminent release date

The Independent - Tech

Fortnite Season 6 is almost here, with Epic Games formally announcing that the latest version of the battle royale phenomenon will launch on 27 September. A teaser image showing a robotic lama was published by the official social media channels of Fortnite's developer on Monday, though it is not clear what this signifies. A short message accompanied the image: "All great parties need a DJ. 3 days to Season 6." Players of the game can expect new skins, challenges and updates to the map, which has already begun to change after the mysterious purple cube rolled into Loot Lake last week. After a month of rolling periodically around the terrain, leaving scorch patterns – or'runes – on the ground, the giant cube reached its final destination. When it reached the lake, it transformed the surface into a purple trampoline.

The Ten Best Things Built In Fortnite's Playground Mode So Far

Forbes - Tech

I knew that Fortnite's Playground mode would have the potential to turn the game into Minecraft, and it only took a single day for fans to start going wild and build incredibly impressive things across the Fortnite map. I will probably hunt down some actual videos later of shopping cart racetracks and such, but for now I wanted to focus on pictures of the most impressive creations I've found in the game so far. Given that this is day one, I'm sure that these are going to be surpassed in no time, but I think they're worth looking at all the same. Some of these are statues, others recreate maps from other iconic shooters. Some are literally trying to be wonders of the Fortnite world.

'Fortnite: Battle Royale' -- Where To Search For Chests In Loot Lake

Forbes - Tech

Searching chests in Loot Lake is one of Fortnite's Season 4, Week 6 challenges. Searching for 7 treasure chests in Loot Lake is one of the Season 4, Week 6 challenges in Fortnite: Battle Royale. Given that this is Loot Lake, a body of water practically overflowing with loot, searching for chests shouldn't prove too problematic. One issue with this area of the map, however, is exposure. Getting to some of these chests means leaving yourself exposed to enemy fire from all directions.

'Fortnite: Battle Royale' Season 4, Week 6 Challenges Leak Online

Forbes - Tech

Just like they do every week, the Season 4, Week 6 challenges have leaked online, courtesy of the dataminers at Fortnite Tracker. We're more than halfway through the season now, and many players are closing in on the ultimate goals of the season: for some that might mean unlocking and upgrading the Omega skin, which requires Battle Pass Tier 100 and Season Level 80. For others, that might mean unlocking the Blockbuster skin, which requires finishing seven complete weeks of challenges. Whatever you're working towards, the weekly challenges are your best source of Battle Pass tiers and experience, so let's take a look at what we've got. Take note that these are subject to change, and have done so in the past: last week one of the collection challenges wound up replaced by the charming disco ball dance challenge.

'Fortnite: Battle Royale:' Here's How To Dance To Raise The Disco Ball Near Loot Lake

Forbes - Tech

This has been a very strange week for Fortnite: Battle Royale challenges. First, they were delayed from Tuesday to move back to Thursday, and now the datamined challenges have been altered, and there's a brand new one that wasn't there before. Gone is the challenge to search for Gravity Stones, whatever those were (I think they were different than Hop Rocks), and now players are tasked with the challenge to "dance with others to raise the disco ball by Loot Lake." For the rest of the Season 4, Week 5 challenges and how to complete them, click here. Here's where to go if you want to follow the Greasy Grove Treasure Map.
