LG unveils a range of new laptops ahead of CES 2024

CES (aka Consumer Technology Association), which is held in Las Vegas every January, is a week away. That said, LG has chosen to showcase the 2024 models in its gram laptop series right now. In addition to newer models of the old range, the South Korean company is also introducing a new gram Pro model. All the computers will have access to AI functions in the LG gram Link app and the Pro models also have extra support via Intel's neuron processor Intel AI Boost. The LG Gram Pro will be launched with 16- and 17-inch screen sizes.

LG is hopping on the home-brewing bandwagon. At CES on Monday morning, the firm unveiled its first beer-making appliance, which will let users brew their own IPAs, pale ales, and malt beverages'with little more than the push of a button.' LG also kicked off its CES presence by revealing its 2019 TVs, including a jaw-dropping new 8K model and its highly-anticipated rollable OLED TV. And, the firm teased its ambitious plans to launch 5G connectivity in its devices before 2020, with its first 5G phone set to be unveiled at LG's Las Vegas keynote Monday night. Onstage in Las Vegas, LG and Qualcomm promised 5G will soon be hitting devices, claiming firms who aim for a 2020 rollout of the technology are'definitely going to be too late.'


The robot you WEAR: LG unveils its new AI-powered CLOi SuitBot

Workers of the future could be given a boost thanks to a wearable robotic suit developed by LG. Dubbed CLOi SuitBot, the AI-powered robotic suit boosts the leg movements of its wearer, letting them undertake tasks they normally wouldn't be equipped to handle. The firm says it could to help warehouse workers who have to lift heavy objects. The CLOi SuitBot can communicate with other service robots built by LG to become part of a'smart working network' to co-ordinate around the factory floor. A concept version of the technology was unveiled at a media launch during the annual IFA tech conference, which is held in Berlin from August 31 to September 5. Workers of the future could be given a boost thanks to a wearable robotic suit being developed by LG. SuitBot was designed in collaboration with fellow South Korean firm, SG Robotics.

LG unveils the G7 ThinQ with more screen and an AI-infused camera

The Android notch has officially arrived. Hot on the heels on the V30S ThinQ, which is due to hit U.S. shelves this month, LG has announced the LG G7 ThinQ, which brings the latest processor, a camera infused with AI and machine learning, and more screen to work with. That is, if you can handle a camera cutout. The G7 has a 6.1-inch QHD "super bright" display that can hit 1,000 nits at maximum brightness while using 35 percent less power than the G6. LG has gone back to using an LCD for the G7 after switching to OLED for the V30.


LG unveils its first smart speaker with Google Assistant

LG is acting on its promise to unveil a slew of AI-powered gadgets at CES this January. The tech giant has unveiled a 2018 speaker lineup headlined by the ThinQ Speaker, a Google Assistant-powered device that promises "premium" sound alongside its smarts. It supports lossless high-resolution audio like LG's more advanced phones, and uses Meridian Audio's know-how to pump out "more natural and warm" music. The launch also hints that many of LG's newer appliances will be Assistant-savvy -- the company envisions turning on your air purifier with a voice command. The rest of the lineup is led by the SK10Y soundbar, a 5.1.2-channel


LG unveils the V30 which can produce movie-quality videos

LG has unveiled its much anticipated V30 smartphone today at the IFA conference in Berlin. The device is a slimmer version of its top-of-the-line phone, with advanced new camera and voice-activation features aimed at active video users. The company claims the new features will allow users to take'movie-quality' videos. The LG V30 offers a 6-inch screen that is shorter and narrower than its previous flagship phone, the G6, introduced just six months ago, making it easier to grasp. It is the lightest smartphone with a 6-inch or bigger screen, LG said.
