Indian start-ups take part in UK's AI talent event
A company statement said six Indian start-ups presented ideas that ranged from AI-enabled SaaS for rapid diagnosis of drug-resistant tuberculosis, to a next generation of light-based AI hardware. EF has helped over 600 co-founders build over 120 companies in Asia. In early 2019, EF announced the $115 million first close of a new global fund, one of the largest pre-seed venture capital funds ever raised. This will allow EF to invest in over2,200 individuals over the next three years.
Google to mentor local AI start-ups
Google on Tuesday announced'Launchpad Accelerator India,' a mentorship program that would aim to support Indian start-ups that deploy artificial intelligence and machine learning to build solutions for local needs. The company said the program builds on the success of the global Launchpad Accelerator program. It has been designed to grow the AI and ML ecosystem in India by helping Indian start-ups build scalable solutions for India's unique problems. "India has the appetite to build entrepreneurs of the future and we are proud to announce a focussed program for the next wave of Indian entrepreneurs," Roy Glasberg, Global Launchpad Founder, Google, said in a statement. The three-month accelerator will provide a cohort of 8-10 Indian start-ups with mentorship and access to the best of Google -- its people, network and technologies. They will also get up to $1,00,000 of Google Cloud credits.
