How IBM Watson is using AI technology in the health field
Artificial-intelligence technology is all around us, in the form of voice assistants like Siri, Alexa, Cortana, and more. But this technology extends beyond recognizing a song or telling us the weather. At last year's Business Insider IGNITION conference, David Kenny, the general manager of IBM's Watson division, discussed the AI project. According to Kenny, Watson is most advanced in the health field. One example of its success potentially saved a life.

Top minds discuss 'smart bots' at IGNITION 2016
In addition to compelling keynote speakers, the Business Insider IGNITION 2016 conference included panels of experts who shared their deep, insightful knowledge. One such panel included Dennis Mortensen, CEO and founder of x.ai; Michael Roberts, head of Messenger at Kik Interactive; and Alex Wellen, chief product officer at CNN. They sat down at IGNITION 2016 to discuss smart bots and how they're affecting life as we know it. CNN is focused on making news available using bots. With the use of voice-activated digital assistants such as Alexa, Siri, and Cortana, news can be delivered in new ways.
IGNITION 2016: Here's what's up next for AI
So far, supercomputer IBM Watson has proved itself brainy enough to compete on Jeopardy and brawny enough to play at this year's US Open. However, Watson did serve in a sense -- attending to US Open audience members as a sort of virtual concierge. Watson's latest feat is just a foreshadowing of the possibilities presented by artificial intelligence. If you want to hear more about the future of AI, check out Business Insider's flagship conference, IGNITION 2016, this December, where Watson's General Manager David Kenny will be sharing his insight. Don't miss Kenny's talk -- it'll be the stuff of tech geeks' dreams.

IGNITION 2016: IBM Watson General Manager will unveil the future of artificial intelligence
We live in a world where artificial intelligence isn't science fiction -- it's reality. And, as Alex Konrad of Forbes previously reported, IBM Watson General Manager David Kenny is currently striving to make sure that AI becomes a "service" soon. Watson is IBM's artificially intelligent supercomputer (not to mention a Jeopardy champion). According to Forbes, IBM and Kenny expect Watson to expand into a 10 billion business within the next ten years. We're thrilled to announce that Kenny will be speaking about how AI is fueling the next massive wave of digital disruption and innovation at IGNITION 2016, Business Insider's flagship annual conference.
