If you really want to transform your business, get AI to transform your infrastructure first – Blocks and Files
But applied correctly it can make IT infrastructure disappear. But Ronak Chokshi, who leads product marketing for InfoSight at HPE, argues that when considering how to better manage their infrastructure, tech leaders need to consider what services like Uber or Google Maps have achieved. The IT infrastructure behind the delivery of these services is immaterial to the rest of the world – except perhaps for frazzled tech leaders in other sectors who wonder how they could achieve similarly seamless operations. "The consumers don't really care how it works, as long as the service is available when needed, and it's easy to manage," he says. Or, to put another way, says Chokshi, InfoSight worries about the infrastructure, so tech teams can be more application-centric.

MIT Technology Review underscores importance of AIOps in IT
I think that by now we can agree that infrastructure complexities and data management are getting out of hand. With storage systems, servers, virtualized software layer (including the container ecosystem), and the plethora of applications that a modern enterprise runs, even keeping the lights on can be challenging. When any of these systems or applications fail to function or face disruption – and disruptions are not uncommon – IT administrators have to scramble to get them back up and running. As businesses move faster, CIOs should be focused on ways to support this speed and help grow the business. Instead, they often find themselves dealing with basic infrastructure upkeep.
HPE introduces AI-driven HyperConverged Infrastructure - CRN - India
Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has announced advancements to HPE SimpliVity, the company's flagship hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) platform, ushering in a new generation of HCI powered with artificial intelligence to simplify virtual machine (VM) management and free IT staff to focus on innovation. Building upon its software-defined architecture, HPE SimpliVity is enhancing its customer experience with HPE InfoSight, one-click cluster upgrades, and the integration of HPE StoreOnce. Today's enterprises are under relentless pressure to streamline operations and accelerate innovation, but in order to achieve this agility, they require an intelligent underlying architecture for virtualized environments that automatically speeds time to market and eliminates complexity. While HCI inherently accelerates service delivery and resource efficiency, traditional HCI offerings still require IT to react to unexpected disruptions and application delays, and make tradeoffs as enterprises scale their environments. HPE SimpliVity goes beyond software-defined, ushering in AI-driven infrastructure, infusing artificial intelligence to transform IT operations by predicting and preventing issues.
InfoSight for HPE SimpliVity: How AI simplifies HCI, Part 1 – Intro and demo
As you may remember from HPE Discover in June, HPE announced that InfoSight is being integrated into HPE SimpliVity hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI). HPE InfoSight is a SaaS portal with the intelligence to predict and even prevent infrastructure problems before they happen. I know, I can hardly believe it myself. Now the HPE SimpliVity platform, which includes features such as always-on inline deduplication and compression, and built-in data protection, will be the first HCI solution to include artificial intelligence (AI) using HPE InfoSight. In this blog series, I am going to walk you through the benefits of InfoSight in an HPE SimpliVity environment.
Using AI and Predictive Analytics to Improve the Data Center
Digital transformation requires companies to be nimbler, more proactive, and more responsive to customers. Our always-on culture has begotten the need for always-available data. Meanwhile, the tolerance for downtime continues to plummet. Whether it's a bank customer conducting a financial transaction or a salesperson submitting an order, a processing delay is no longer acceptable. An interruption like this sets off an IT scramble to determine how to fix that "app-data gap" -- i.e., what's causing delays in data delivery to applications.

HPE InfoSight Brings Artificial Intelligence (AI) to the Data Center
In late November, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) announced the industry's first artificial intelligence (AI) recommendation engine designed to simplify and reduce the guesswork in managing infrastructure and improve application reliability. HPE InfoSight is an industry-leading predictive analytics platform that brings software-defined intelligence to the data center with the ability to predict and prevent infrastructure problems before they happen. Leveraging advanced machine learning, the new capabilities for HPE InfoSight pave the path toward an autonomous data center. HPE also announced the first release of HPE InfoSight for HPE 3PAR, which makes cross-stack analytics and global visibility available, and provides the foundation for predictive support. This declaration sets in motion the promise to extend machine learning across the HPE storage and server portfolio.

AI-driven management with HPE InfoSight
Yesterday I had a demo showing 3PAR on HPE InfoSight with cross stack analytics - a new feature we had announced recently. Today I have another demo of another new feature with InfoSight: Artificial Intelligence or AI-driven management. Competitors are struggling to keep up with the benefits that HPE InfoSight provides customers and AI-driven management pushes the gap even further. Before I jump into the demo, here's a bit of background. The image to the right (click on it if you want to see a bigger version) gives a high-level architecture of HPE InfoSight.
