In a social media post on Saturday, he said his administration will not in any way hinder or stifle the growth of the industry, and pushed back against calls to slow down the development of AI until better safeguards are put in place. His post came as a slew of warnings about the potential dangers of AI have spurred calls for coordinated action on the technology's development. Trump offered no details or a timeline for his plan. The state pension is likely to rise by £488 to next April to £13,036.40 a year, new official figures suggest. Under the triple lock pension guarantee, the increase is based on either average wage growth, inflation or 2.5% - whichever is highest. Average wage growth, including bonuses, between May and July slowed to 3.9%, according to the Office for National Statistics. The triple lock has come under scrutiny in recent months as the number of pensioners is expected to rise in the coming years, making the policy more expensive. Almost 13 million people receive the state pension in the UK.

Pokémon fans prepare for'biggest day in a decade' For most people, Wednesday will be just another day - the midweek hump at school or work. The Japanese brand has become one of the most recognisable in the world, with its colourful creatures appearing in video games and on shop shelves across the world. But perhaps most synonymous with the Pokémon phenomenon is its trading card game, which has been played, bought and sold between collectors for the last three decades. Wednesday marks the release of Pokémon's 30th anniversary range - a day one collector described as the brand's biggest day in the last decade, if not more. Gus Hall, owner of Evolution Games in Halifax, said he expected fans to queue before shops open to get their hands on the first release of the cards.
