Canon EOS R5 II review: Canon's most powerful camera yet puts Sony on notice

Engadget

Move over Sony, Canon is trying to take the lead in bleeding-edge tech for mirrorless cameras. The company's new 4,300, 45-megapixel EOS R5 II offers advanced features like eye-tracking autofocus (AF) that can't be found on any recent Sony model. The new camera is also pushing Sony's A1 and other models in the key areas of speed, video and autofocus. And it's arguably more desirable than Canon's own upcoming flagship R1 as it has nearly double the resolution. I've had the R5 II for a few weeks, evaluating not only its practicality and speed for both professionals and serious amateurs, but also how it stacks up against Sony's A1, the gold standard for high-resolution mirrorless cameras.

Windows 10 Spring Creators Update: The best hidden features

PCWorld

Microsoft's next Windows 10 upgrade, code-named Redstone 4 and informally known as the Spring Creators Update, improves Windows in numerous ways. But Microsoft has also added innumerable under-the-hood adjustments. That's why this roundup exists: to underscore smaller additions you might miss, or explain subtle changes in how Windows 10 works. Unlike previous lists we've compiled, though, some of these hidden features seem tentative, with more work clearly needed. Fortunately, Microsoft seems inclined to keep developing Windows 10, with no major replacement on the radar.

Killing passwords in Windows 10 S is one of 7 big changes in Windows 10 Build 17093

PCWorld

Microsoft sees a future without passwords in Windows 10 Insider Build 17093, at least for Windows 10 S users. Microsoft has quietly worked to downplay passwords via PIN codes, fingerprint sensors, and even facial recognition. But actually killing them entirely within Windows 10 S is one of the key changes coming with what may be called the Spring Creators Update, code-named'Redstone 4,' expected to launch in late March or early April. The build, which launched Wednesday, also includes new multi-GPU graphics settings, improved eye tracking, quicker connections using Bluetooth, and clutter-free printing, among others. Why this matters: We thought Microsoft was done with Redstone 4 features when the last build hit a couple of weeks ago.

Eye tracking within Windows 10's Fall Creators Update is an assistive technology with potential

PCWorld

Microsoft's Eye Control for the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update offers up a noble goal: controlling your PC with your eyes, using a feature called Eye Control in the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update. Eye tracking has quietly emerged as an alternative to the mouse, led by companies like Tobii. The concept is simple enough: Sensors within an eye tracker bar you mount on your monitor "watch" your gaze, guessing pretty accurately what you're looking at. Though Tobii sees eye tracking as a tool for productivity and gaming, Microsoft currently sees it as a purely assistive feature, rather than a productivity tool. We've reviewed two generations of eye-tracking hardware from Tobii--Eye Control was specifically designed for its latest eye tracker, the Tobii 4C--which Tobii positioned first as a productivity assistant, then as a gaming peripheral.

Microsoft is testing a futuristic 'eye control' feature

Daily Mail - Science & tech

Microsoft is testing a futuristic feature that will allow users to control their computers using only their eyes. The program - which is in beta - makes it possible to operate an on-screen mouse, keyboard, and text-to-speech using just users' eyes. Windows 10 users with the compatible eye-tracking device already on their computer can try out the feature.
