Robots, the Brilliant Example of Terminus Group's Smart Service Capabilities
Recently, Expo 2020 Dubai announced Terminus Group as its Official Robotics Partner. Mohammed Al Hashmi, CTO of Expo 2020 Dubai disclosed that more than 150 smart robots will be deployed at the Expo. For this collaboration, Victor Ai, Founder and CEO of Terminus Group, commented: "We have been committing to the intersection of science, engineering and technology, which empowered Terminus Group's Robots with world-leading interactive computing. Together with Opti, the mascot robot designed by Terminus Group exclusively for the purposes of the Expo 2020 Dubai event, the robots will interact with the visitors from all around the world by offering diverse multi-modal interactions, 5G network connectivity, AI mapping and object detection.
China-based Terminus to deploy more than 150 interactive robots at Expo 2020
China-based Terminus Technologies will deploy more than 150 interactive robots when Expo 2020 opens doors next year. Visitors will be greeted and be able to interact with Opti, one of the Expo 2020 robot mascots from Terminus, and will also provide visitor assistance as well as helping with food and beverage delivery and hospitality services. Expo 2020 Dubai will run from October 1, 2021, to March 31, 2022. After signing in as Expo 2020 Dubai's Official Robotics Partner, Victor Ai, Founder and CEO, Terminus Technologies, said that they will set up its first headquarters outside of China as well as a research and development centre at District 2020, the human-centric smart city that will repurpose post Expo. "Expo 2020 Dubai will serve as an incredible hub of innovation for the world, and District 2020 will act as an example for global smart city development. Terminus is working with both to redefine the concept of future cities with our leading robotics, AI and IoT technology," he said.
RTA begins trial run of autonomous vehicle at Expo 2020 Dubai site
Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has started the trial run of an autonomous vehicle within the 4.38km2 Expo 2020 Dubai site. The vehicle will be used to commute individuals on a dedicated path from the main entrance to staff offices. It can accommodate 15 riders, including 10 seated and five standing, and travels at a speed of 25kmph. It is designed to travel in closed and internal public roads within the entertainment and residential communities. The autonomous vehicle, which uses green technologies, is powered by electricity and can operate up to 16 hours.
