Self-Adaptive ERP: Embedding NLP into Petri-Net creation and Model Matching

Maged, Ahmed, Kassem, Gamal

arXiv.org Artificial Intelligence

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) consultants play a vital role in customizing systems to meet specific business needs by processing large amounts of data and adapting functionalities. However, the process is resource-intensive, time-consuming, and requires continuous adjustments as business demands evolve. This research introduces a Self-Adaptive ERP Framework that automates customization using enterprise process models and system usage analysis. It leverages Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Natural Language Processing (NLP) for Petri nets to transform business processes into adaptable models, addressing both structural and functional matching. The framework, built using Design Science Research (DSR) and a Systematic Literature Review (SLR), reduces reliance on manual adjustments, improving ERP customization efficiency and accuracy while minimizing the need for consultants.

Enterprise Resource Planning Advances with AI and Machine Learning - Arionerp

#artificialintelligence

ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) is the brain of your organization's technology apparatus. The brain coordinates the activities of your body. It is responsible for telling the body what it should do. A well-planned Enterprise Resource Planning system is essential for any organization to function. But things will change over time. Digital transformation is an important driving force in today's business world. Businesses that want to make the most of Industry 4.0's technological advances will need them. Enterprise services that are efficient and error-free make it possible to use machine learning and artificial Intelligence technologies in real time and automate operations. This is a significant influence on digital transformation. One of the significant impacts of ML is the potential enhancement of Enterprise resource plan (ERP) applications.

How AI Is Helping Companies Redesign Processes

#artificialintelligence

In the 1990s, business process reengineering was all the rage: Companies used budding technologies such as enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and the internet to enact radical changes to broad, end-to-end business processes. Buoyed by reengineering's academic and consulting proponents, companies anticipated transformative changes to broad processes like order-to-cash and conception to commercialization of new products. But while technology did bring major updates, implementations often failed to live up to the sky-high expectations. For example, large-scale ERP systems like SAP or Oracle provided a useful IT backbone to exchange data, yet also created very rigid processes that were hard to change past the IT implementation. Since then, process management typically involved only incremental change to local processes -- Lean and Six Sigma for repetitive processes, and Agile Lean Startup methods for development -- all without any assistance from technology.

Complete document automation – increasingly business critical

#artificialintelligence

Much has been written about the importance of internal document digitisation and automation with the significant improvement in operational efficiencies it brings to organisations worldwide. The last few years has seen it quickly cement itself as vital for business efficiencies, productivity, and the knock-on effect of this on a business's bottom line. The automation of internal processes and operations is vital. However, we need to pay cognizance to the equal importance of ensuring that these same efficiencies are implemented across both inbound and outbound documents and processes. Manually retrieving data from inbound documents and entering it into your company's ERP system can be tedious and time-consuming.

The Influence of Artificial Intelligence on ERP Systems - Aarav Solutions

#artificialintelligence

Artificial Intelligence is a science of developing computers that can accomplish tasks that require human cognizance. Since its inception Artificial Intelligence has gathered as many critics as admirers. But even though it is a relatively new technology AI has made a difference in the way we create and use software. Experts at Aarav Solutions say that in the immediate future AI will be involved in the development of all new technology including ERP. Enterprise Resource Planning or ERP software have been leveraging AI for building systems that are efficient and sustainable.

Open ERP System Data For Occupational Fraud Detection

Tritscher, Julian, Gwinner, Fabian, Schlör, Daniel, Krause, Anna, Hotho, Andreas

arXiv.org Artificial Intelligence

Recent estimates report that companies lose 5% of their revenue to occupational fraud. Since most medium-sized and large companies employ Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems to track vast amounts of information regarding their business process, researchers have in the past shown interest in automatically detecting fraud through ERP system data. Current research in this area, however, is hindered by the fact that ERP system data is not publicly available for the development and comparison of fraud detection methods. We therefore endeavour to generate public ERP system data that includes both normal business operation and fraud. We propose a strategy for generating ERP system data through a serious game, model a variety of fraud scenarios in cooperation with auditing experts, and generate data from a simulated make-to-stock production company with multiple research participants. We aggregate the generated data into ready to used datasets for fraud detection in ERP systems, and supply both the raw and aggregated data to the general public to allow for open development and comparison of fraud detection approaches on ERP system data.

Why does your business need SAP?

#artificialintelligence

SAP promotes optimal data processing and information transfer across enterprises as one of the world's top software systems dedicated to the administration of business operations. SAP, for example, uses in-memory computing to analyze large volumes of data while simultaneously enabling sophisticated technologies like artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning. Whether you are on your digital transformation journey, SAP can help you get started or improve it. Elevate using SAP for Automotive Suppliers is a great place to start if you haven't switched to cloud ERP. If you currently possess cloud ERP – via SAP or another vendor – the automotive sector cloud solutions will help you expand your ERP capabilities.

Do You Know How Your Teams Get Work Done?

#artificialintelligence

How much do managers know about how their teams work? We recently ran a research study involving 14 teams comprising 283 employees in four Fortune 500 companies. When managers were asked about their teams' work, on average they either did not know or could not remember 60% of the work their teams do. In one extreme instance, a manager in our study could describe only 4% of their team's work. The cost of managers not knowing this gap exists can be high, even in teams as small as five members, and is therefore applicable to any company, big or small.

ERP Systems: How It Benefits From Artificial Intelligence - AI Summary

#artificialintelligence

AI can help further ameliorate this aspect of the business in more than one impact way; for example, it can assist companies with data optimization, i.e. ensuring all their data is not only updated but also optimized and complete. ERP solutions fortified with AI are also able to help companies close any gaps between various departments within the organization, empower executives to make sound, data-driven decisions, and so much more. AI-driven ERP solutions, then, offer solutions such as chatbots that can quickly learn from the company's data and then use it to improve customers' journeys and experiences with the brand. Plus, when you find a trusted provider for enterprise software development services, you will also have the requisite expertise that will further serve to ensure the success of your endeavor to fortify your ERP solution with AI. Not only that -- researchers have also found that as many as 83 percent of companies believe AI is critical to the success of their endeavors to ensure their business growth.

Infor joins Teams bandwagon

#artificialintelligence

This week, Infor is the latest to have announced the general availability of its digital assistant within Microsoft Teams. The integration will enable customers to access information from within their ERP systems. To do so, customers will interact with the Infor Coleman AI Digital Assistant app for Teams. The digital assistant bot was previously available via a web browser, the Infor Go mobile app, and Amazon Alexa for Business. Oddly, unlike many others, Infor has not yet added an integration.
