Generative 3D Part Assembly via Dynamic Graph Learning
Autonomous part assembly is a challenging yet crucial task in 3D computer vision and robotics. Analogous to buying an IKEA furniture, given a set of 3D parts that can assemble a single shape, an intelligent agent needs to perceive the 3D part geometry, reason to propose pose estimations for the input parts, and finally call robotic planning and control routines for actuation. In this paper, we focus on the pose estimation subproblem from the vision side involving geometric and relational reasoning over the input part geometry. Essentially, the task of generative 3D part assembly is to predict a 6-DoF part pose, including a rigid rotation and translation, for each input part that assembles a single 3D shape as the final output. To tackle this problem, we propose an assembly-oriented dynamic graph learning framework that leverages an iterative graph neural network as a backbone. It explicitly conducts sequential part assembly refinements in a coarse-to-fine manner, exploits a pair of part relation reasoning module and part aggregation module for dynamically adjusting both part features and their relations in the part graph. We conduct extensive experiments and quantitative comparisons to three strong baseline methods, demonstrating the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
Improving Generalization of Dynamic Graph Learning via Environment Prompt
Out-of-distribution (OOD) generalization issue is a well-known challenge within deep learning tasks. In dynamic graphs, the change of temporal environments is regarded as the main cause of data distribution shift. While numerous OOD studies focusing on environment factors have achieved remarkable performance, they still fail to systematically solve the two issue of environment inference and utilization. In this work, we propose a novel dynamic graph learning model named EpoD based on prompt learning and structural causal model to comprehensively enhance both environment inference and utilization. Inspired by the superior performance of prompt learning in understanding underlying semantic and causal associations, we first design a self-prompted learning mechanism to infer unseen environment factors.

DynaGraph: Interpretable Multi-Label Prediction from EHRs via Dynamic Graph Learning and Contrastive Augmentation

Learning from longitudinal electronic health records is limited if it does not capture the temporal trajectories of the patient's state in a clinical setting. Graph models allow us to capture the hidden dependencies of the multivariate time-series when the graphs are constructed in a similar dynamic manner. Previous dynamic graph models require a pre-defined and/or static graph structure, which is unknown in most cases, or they only capture the spatial relations between the features. Furthermore in healthcare, the interpretability of the model is an essential requirement to build trust with clinicians. In addition to previously proposed attention mechanisms, there has not been an interpretable dynamic graph framework for data from multivariate electronic health records (EHRs). Here, we propose DynaGraph, an end-to-end interpretable contrastive graph model that learns the dynamics of multivariate time-series EHRs as part of optimisation. We validate our model in four real-world clinical datasets, ranging from primary care to secondary care settings with broad demographics, in challenging settings where tasks are imbalanced and multi-labelled. Compared to state-of-the-art models, DynaGraph achieves significant improvements in balanced accuracy and sensitivity over the nearest complex competitors in time-series or dynamic graph modelling across three ICU and one primary care datasets. Through a pseudo-attention approach to graph construction, our model also indicates the importance of clinical covariates over time, providing means for clinical validation.

Weaknesses: My biggest concern is the part aggregation module: - I'm not sure if max-pooling is the best way to aggregate the node attributes among the parts into a single node. If we want to captuer the commonalities between different nodes, wouldn't average pooling be more appropriate? Some comparison is probably needed. For example, seat is strongly related to back while back is least related to seat; arm is most related to leg but leg is hardly related to arm. Second, why is leg most related to leg, given that they are not connected?

All four reviewers were positively inclined about this paper, with the primary weaknesses being fairly low-level and minor concerns. The AC is inclined to agree with the reviewers. Given that the rebuttal addressed a number of concerns, the AC encourages the authors to incorporate information from their rebuttal in the camera-ready.

DyGKT: Dynamic Graph Learning for Knowledge Tracing

Knowledge Tracing aims to assess student learning states by predicting their performance in answering questions. Different from the existing research which utilizes fixed-length learning sequence to obtain the student states and regards KT as a static problem, this work is motivated by three dynamical characteristics: 1) The scales of students answering records are constantly growing; 2) The semantics of time intervals between the records vary; 3) The relationships between students, questions and concepts are evolving. The three dynamical characteristics above contain the great potential to revolutionize the existing knowledge tracing methods. Along this line, we propose a Dynamic Graph-based Knowledge Tracing model, namely DyGKT. In particular, a continuous-time dynamic question-answering graph for knowledge tracing is constructed to deal with the infinitely growing answering behaviors, and it is worth mentioning that it is the first time dynamic graph learning technology is used in this field. Then, a dual time encoder is proposed to capture long-term and short-term semantics among the different time intervals. Finally, a multiset indicator is utilized to model the evolving relationships between students, questions, and concepts via the graph structural feature. Numerous experiments are conducted on five real-world datasets, and the results demonstrate the superiority of our model. A General Benchmark Framework is Dynamic Graph Neural Network Need
Dynamic graph learning is crucial for modeling real-world systems with evolving relationships and temporal dynamics. However, the lack of a unified benchmark framework in current research has led to inaccurate evaluations of dynamic graph models. This paper highlights the significance of dynamic graph learning and its applications in various domains. It emphasizes the need for a standardized benchmark framework that captures temporal dynamics, evolving graph structures, and downstream task requirements. Establishing a unified benchmark will help researchers understand the strengths and limitations of existing models, foster innovation, and advance dynamic graph learning. In conclusion, this paper identifies the lack of a standardized benchmark framework as a current limitation in dynamic graph learning research . Such a framework will facilitate accurate model evaluation, drive advancements in dynamic graph learning techniques, and enable the development of more effective models for real-world applications.
