The Changing Face of Marketing: How AI is Inventing the Future
Artificial intelligence is changing the way we do marketing, and it's happening faster than we think. From voice assistants like Siri helping users find information or complete tasks, to personalized ads popping up while browsing online–these are just some examples of how AI can be incorporated into your digital strategy today. In this blog post, I will explore how AI is inventing the future of marketing for us. The use of AI in marketing is rapidly changing the way that businesses connect with consumers. One company already using Ai successfully is Zalando, the European e-commerce retailer.

At Convoy, we've built a digital marketplace to connect truck driving businesses to our customer's shipments as well as the infrastructure to collect comprehensive data on each transaction and user engagement with our technology. Our data have a complex underlying network structure and unique supply/demand equilibrium constraints. In this talk, I will review my exploratory work to create a synthetic dataset of bidding behavior that exhibits interference and evaluate analysis of a 2-stage randomization design experiment. My goal is to provide insight into the intricacies of a digital marketplace, using Convoy as a specific example, and difficulties with applying solutions developed for the general interference setting.
Predicting The Future Of Digital Marketplaces
Digital Marketplaces are flourishing today thanks to the advances made in Artificial Intelligence (AI), machine learning, real-time personalization and the scale and speed of the latest generation of cloud platforms including the Google Cloud Platform. Today's digital marketplaces are capitalizing on these technologies to create trusted, virtual trading platforms and environments buyers and sellers rely on for a wide variety of tasks every day. Differentiated from B2B exchanges and communities from the 90s that often had high transaction costs, proprietary messaging protocols, and limited functionality, today's marketplaces are proving that secure, trusted scalability is achievable on standard cloud platforms. Kahuna recently partnered with Brian Solis of The Altimeter Group to produce a fascinating research study, The State (and Future) of Digital Marketplaces. The report is downloadable here (PDF, 14 pp., opt-in).
Robot Cache, a Steam rival that lets you sell your 'used' games and mine cryptocoins, opens signups
Steam alternatives are cropping up all over the place, so let's throw one more into the ring. Announced earlier this year, Brian Fargo's Robot Cache officially began signups for its so-called Early Access period today. Well, players can sell used games, developers get to keep 95 percent of a game's revenue, and there's a cryptocurrency involved. If you go to the Robot Cache website, it even says it's "The world's first blockchain-based digital marketplace for video games." The cryptocurrency in question is called "IRON," all-caps, and apparently one Iron is pegged to the value of one Euro.

What the Rise of the Freelance Economy Means for the Future of Work
Today an increasing number of workers are veering off the time-honored career path of joining an employer, rising through the ranks and staying for decades. Some are freelancing by choice, relishing the opportunity to set their own schedules, choose their assignments and work independently. Others have turned to contingent work out of economic necessity. Freelancing has long been commonplace in professions ranging from writing, editing and design to many skilled trades, real estate appraisal and even fitness training. Statistics do not always provide a clear picture of the contingent workforce because of the variety of working arrangements that are possible.
