The Atmosphère Collar Beautifies Artificial Intelligence - Design Milk

#artificialintelligence

If Seymourpowell's beauty concept Atmosphére is any indication of the future of wearables, we'll soon be counteracting the negative effects of pollution, urbanization, and age itself within our own bubbles of protection wearing fashionable and functional pieces of AI-powered devices everywhere we go. Industrial design and innovation agency Seymourpowell proposes integrating artificial intelligence to imbue wearables with the ability to actively protect users from toxic urban environments in the convenience of a wearable design. Location-based data and the users' personal data, including skin type and monitored physiological/environmental feedback (e.g. The device's ribbed design is an aesthetic detail, but also operates as vents around the rim of the Atmosphére. Sensors adjust air filtration, humidity, and temperature, alongside dispensing health and beauty measures like sun protection as determined by user preference with the aid of AI.

Artificial Intelligence Swings Into Motion at London's V&A Museum's 'Affinity in Autonomy' - Design Milk

#artificialintelligence

Sony is bringing its expertise in AI and robotics to the London Design Festival next month in the form of'Affinity in Autonomy', an exhibition exploring avenues by which artificial intelligence and robotic design might alter the landscape of art, design, and everyday interactions between humans and thinking machines. Envisioned as a glimpse into a (near) future when AI is woven into the daily practices and habits of society, 'Affinity in Autonomy' features'Pendulus' – an interactive robotic exhibition representing the independence and free will of robotics using the random movement of its namesake. The pendulum kinetic activity is predicated upon the presence of a human being, setting into motion autonomous based upon robotic "sense". Sony Design is entering a new realm with'Affinity in Autonomy', making unfamiliar concepts familiar. In an increasing sensor-filled world the installation places focus on the emergence of artificial intelligence and allows visitors to explore its behaviour and own personality.

The Rolls-Royce 103EX is Autonomous Luxury - Design Milk

#artificialintelligence

British heritage brand Rolls-Royce is entering the autonomous vehicle fray with a stunning futuristic unveiling – the Rolls-Royce 103EX – a concept embodiment of the luxury company's vision of what the next 100 years of road travel will look like. Harkening back to the days when the very well-heeled relied upon the service of a driver, the futuristic Rolls-Royce is one giant cabin comprised of two soft wool seats (calling them "rear seats" is completely unnecessary, as there are no front seats at all), offering what the designers call an automotive equivalent of haute couture. The elaborate and luxe interior caters to every whim of the 21st technocrat with leg room to spare: smartphone integration, automation options, and most curiously, an artificial intelligence feature named Eleanor. Eleanor is designed as a digital chauffeur, one capable of determining the occupant's mood and changing the drive style, ambiance, climate, and music according to continual monitoring. All this bespoke service happens while rolling upon enormous 28-inch wheels and powered by a zero-emission electric powertrain.
