Why I'm joining Graphcore to lead our Developer Relations

#artificialintelligence

Created video streaming and network acceleration algorithms that have found their way in screens both large and small. It was also the first patent I had granted with Samsung, it was an equally challenging and fulfilling development crunch. Developed a mixed-reality tool for connected classrooms. It was a project with Samsung's Advanced Solutions Lab where one day I'm prototyping hardware for its Tangible User Interface, and another day I'm coding pattern recognition. While Harvard Business Review's D.J. Patil and Thomas Davenport declared Data Scientist "The Sexiest Job of the 21st Century", I have been fortunate enough to personally have been in a position to lead companies in various industries which were going through their own big data and data science transformations.

Stroke Prediction using Data Analytics and Machine Learning

#artificialintelligence

Stroke is the second leading cause of death worldwide. According to the World Health Organization [1], 5 million people worldwide suffer a stroke every year. Of these, one third die and another third are left permanently disabled. In the United States, someone has a stroke every 40 seconds and every four minutes, someone dies [2]. The aftermath is devastating, with victims experiencing a wide range of disabling symptoms including sudden paralysis, speech loss or blindness due to blood flow interruption in the brain [3].

Data Analytics and Machine Learning's Significance has Changed Over Time

#artificialintelligence

We are, without a doubt, living in the most pivotal time of human history. What defines it, moreover, is not what has occurred, but what is to come in the years ahead. The democratisation of different technologies and techniques that followed the boost in computing is what helps businesses. When we talk about computing, the first thing which comes to mind is using various operations. When a list of instructions and rules are followed by a programme to complete a task it is known as an algorithm.

Speech Recognition using Artificial Neural Network (ANN)

#artificialintelligence

Speech is the way of communication between people. The speech recognition is a software invention which converts our spoken language into a machine-readable format. Nowadays speech recognition is useful for interaction between human and machines or mobile devices. So, it is very important. Speech recognition is mainly divided into two parts.

Why Big Data and Machine Learning are Essential for Cyber Security - insideBIGDATA

#artificialintelligence

As cyber threats continue to evolve, big data and machine learning are increasingly necessary for a strong cyber security strategy. Will Cappelli, vice president of research at Gartner, says that companies are combining big data and machine learning capabilities as part of a more powerful approach to cyber security. In terms of market size, Gartner estimates that in 2016 the world spent approximately $800 million on the application of big data and machine learning technologies to security use cases," he explains. The idea is to deploy a platform that aggregates and manages big data, and to combine this with a machine learning algorithm that analyzes this data to uncover hidden patterns and detect threats. As cyber security strategies evolve to protect against hackers, hackers are developing increasingly sophisticated strategies to bypass these protections.
