Recently the 10 year old daughter of my friend Ed asked him if Artificial Intelligence means we can stop thinking. We both were perplexed and were not able to give an answer to this curious question. This extremely smart question cannot be simply answered with a yes or no. It triggered my own thinking and curiosity, after we had just mentioned the word Innovation. How will Artificial Intelligence contribute to Innovation in a Corporate Environment?

Never have enterprise firms had such a short shelf life. Innosight's 2018 Corporate Longevity Forecast found that, if the current churn rate holds, fully half of S&P 500 companies will be replaced in the coming decade. While 80 percent of executives surveyed by Innosight said they "strongly" or "somewhat" agree that they need to transform, 55 percent of those same executives said they expect their competition to come from existing industry players rather than new competitors. Corporate leaders may be right on the first point, but they're likely wrong on the second. One of the most significant threats to corporations is disruption from agile startups with a culture of experimentation and risk-taking.

In a not so far away future, we will have to work hard on this set of questions: When will robots (artificial intelligence) become trusted members of corporate innovation teams? Who will make it happen? We should be on the forefront on this development and Transform XO is taking the first steps now while calling for partners. The focus will be on corporate innovation capabilities that can help companies improve on their innovation outcomes (products and services). Transform XO aims to set up a hybrid think-tank and accelerator that will focus on two things; 1) provide answers to the above set of questions and 2) work as the connector to help corporations, service providers and startups develop services and products related to the questions.
