Senators Ricketts, Fetterman unite against China's quiet invasion of US farmland
Sen. Pete Ricketts, R-Neb., spoke with Fox News Digital about his bipartisan bill to codify oversight of foreign adversaries, including China, buying American farmland. EXCLUSIVE: Republican Sen. Pete Ricketts is leading the charge with Democrat Sen. John Fetterman to codify oversight on foreign countries buying American farmland. The bipartisan Agricultural Foreign Investment Disclosure (AFIDA) Improvements Act seeks to implement recommendations published by the Government Accountability Office (GAO) in January 2024, which found the AFIDA was ill-equipped to combat foreign ownership of American agricultural land. "Communist China is our greatest geopolitical threat," Ricketts told Fox News Digital in an exclusive interview, adding, "This is a way for us to improve the disclosure that's going on with regard to the purchase of this agricultural land, so we can take other action if necessary to make sure we're not giving Communist China the opportunity to buy agricultural land." The bill's proposal comes as two Chinese nationals – a University of Michigan post-doctoral research fellow, Yunqing Jian, and Huazhong University of Science and Technology student Chengxuan Han – were held in federal custody after they were accused of smuggling biological materials into the United States.

I spent the day using DeepSeek... here are the shocking things I learned about China's AI bot
DeepSeek, the blockbuster AI chatbot from Communist China, caused a panic when it launched Monday, triggering the US stock market to hemorrhage 1 trillion. I spent the day asking the chatbot questions, hoping to get an idea of the hype, and while some of its answers were correct, such as 95 percent of global internet traffic flows through undersea cable, others echoed remarks of the communist nation. 'China has developed advanced submarines and underwater drones capable of tapping into these cables to intercept communications,' Deepsake told me. I also watched in real-time as it removed answers or flat-out refused to talk about Tiananmen Square, internment camps and protests in Hong Kong. The chatbot divulged details about how China employs hacking groups to steal American's data and gain access to our sensitive systems.

Face ID technology used on geese has troubling parallel to communist China: expert
Kara Frederick, tech director at the Heritage Foundation, discusses the need for regulations on artificial intelligence as lawmakers and tech titans discuss the potential risks. Artificial intelligence is gaining new uses at a seemingly rapid pace, and the technology is now extending to applications in the animal kingdom. A new AI tool has been developed that allows researchers to use facial recognition to track the faces of geese, which biologists hope will help them understand their way of life and behaviors, according to a report from NPR. Sonia Kleindorfer, a biologist at the University of Vienna, has long studied the species, telling NPR she built off the work of Konrad Lorenz, who studied the birds and was even able to identify individuals within a flock after studying their faces. WHAT IS ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI)? But AI technology could now make that easier, Kleindorfer said, creating databases and using facial recognition to track the movements of a goose with 97% accuracy.
China's spying is out of control: Get the CCP's drones out of US skies
Fox News chief national security correspondent Jennifer Griffin has the details from the Pentagon on'America Reports.' The United States may have shot down one of Communist China's spy balloons, but America's problem of surveillance from foreign powers is far from destroyed. Many Americans were alarmed as we watched the Biden administration take a dangerously lazy approach to taking down the Chinese spy balloon. We are right to be upset about this, and demand action in response, but that balloon is just a small piece of Communist China's massive surveillance effort targeting you, our military and American businesses. The harsh reality is that the Chinese Communist Party has been surveilling the United States for years using drones purchased with your taxpayer dollars and operated by your federal government.

Mike Pompeo urges more assertive approach to 'Frankenstein' China in major speech
Washington – U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo took fresh aim at China on Thursday and said Washington and its allies must use "more creative and assertive ways" to press the Chinese Communist Party to change its ways, calling it the "mission of our time." Speaking at the Nixon Library in former President Richard Nixon's birthplace in Yorba Linda, California, Pompeo said the late U.S. leader's worry about what he had done by opening the world to China's Communist Party in the 1970s had been prophetic. "President Nixon once said he feared he had created a'Frankenstein' by opening the world to the CCP," Pompeo said. Nixon, who died in 1994 and was president from 1969 to 1974 opened the way for the establishment of U.S. diplomatic relations with Communist China in 1979 through a series of contacts, including a visit to Beijing in 1972. In a major speech delivered after Washington's surprise order this week for China to close its Houston consulate, Pompeo repeated frequently leveled U.S. charges about Beijing's unfair trade practices, human rights abuses and efforts to infiltrate American society.

AI And Brain Scans Target American Schools
Ultra-creepy technology that George Orwell could not have imagined in his most terrifying nightmares is invading government-school classrooms -- and children's minds -- all around the world. While many of the Big Brother innovations are coming out of Communist China, they are making their way into American schools quickly as well. In a video report by the Wall Street Journal on artificial intelligence in Communist Chinese schools, children in a communist indoctrination camp masquerading as a school are shown wearing bands around their heads. The devices feature colored lights on the front that indicate for the "teacher" whether the child is paying attention or distracted. Red is for "deeply focused."

Cyber-human Teamwork MIT Spectrum
"For most real problems, there aren't perfect answers," writes Thomas W. Malone. "But when they are connected in the right ways, groups of people and computers together can often get closer to perfect intelligence than either could alone." Malone, who is the Patrick J. McGovern Professor of Management at the MIT Sloan School of Management and the founding director of the MIT Center for Collective Intelligence, explores the potential of such connections in his new book, Superminds: The Surprising Power of People and Computers Thinking Together, from which this excerpt is taken. Will general AI be a form of collective intelligence? We know that the human brain is itself a form of collective intelligence.

China shows global military ambition at parade marking 70 years of Communist rule
Missile could strike U.S. withing 30 minutes; retired Army Gen. Anthony Tata reacts. China's Communist Party marked 70 years in power Tuesday with a military parade showcasing the country's global ambitions and advancements in weapons technology. Trucks carrying nuclear missiles designed to evade U.S. defenses, a supersonic attack drone and other products of a two-decade-old weapons development effort rolled through Beijing as soldiers marched past President Xi Jinping and other leaders on Tiananmen Square. Fighter jets flew over spectators who waved Chinese flags. The display highlighted Beijing's ambition for strategic influence to match its status as the second-largest global economy, even as Xi's government suppresses dissent that illustrates the tensions between a closed, one-party dictatorship and a rapidly evolving society.
