Bringing Your Team Together with Cognitive Computing

#artificialintelligence

Cognitive collaboration will enable employers to improve workplace productivity, foster teamwork, and improve communication. Cognitive collaboration is the use of technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning in the workplace to enhance operations involving human interaction and communication, such as meetings or group discussions. The term is coined by Cisco and aims at providing services that help teams to collaboratively make smarter and faster decisions. The concept can be leveraged to build a strong workforce that can eventually help in the growth of the organization. Cognitive collaboration will help transform work operations by streamlining them, helping improve the interaction between employees.

How AI and ML Support Cognitive Collaboration

#artificialintelligence

Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning are becoming catch-all terms that cover a wide swath of computing capacity and potential, and they are sometimes incorrectly used as labels to describe other technological advances such as graphics processing unit (GPU) power. For the purposes of this piece, I will be applying the terminology and abilities of AI and ML to solve specific collaboration-related scenarios. Artificial intelligence is often used as an umbrella term to cover various applications of machine learning. It is commonly applied to describe intelligent agents that take inputs from their environment and attempt to achieve a cognitive outcome as a human would. This requires a certain level of programming, training, or applied problem-solving to become practical.
