Memorial Day is the unofficial start to summer. And while things seem a bit different this year because of the pandemic, one thing hasn't changed: Retailers across the US are rolling out their Memorial Day Weekend sales and deals. Memorial Day is a US federal holiday for honoring the men and women who died while serving in the military. However, most sales start the Friday before and span the entire weekend. During Build 2019 last year, Microsoft first announced the Rewrite feature in Microsoft Word. Rewrite feature allowed users to quickly find alternative expressions for phrases in their writing. Recently, Microsoft updated this Rewrite feature to make it even more useful. In addition to phrasal suggestions, Rewrite feature now offers sentence-level writing suggestions. This feature was made possible by Microsoft's cutting-edge, neural-network, machine learning models, which are trained on millions of sentences.
Since the first true wireless earbuds were unveiled in 2015 by Japanese electronics company Onkyo, the fledgling form factor has improved in both audio quality and performance – and CES 2020 showed that true wireless technology might finally be ready for the bigtime. In the past, true wireless earbuds were riddled with connectivity issues, poor audio quality, and bulky designs – however, based on what we saw at CES this year, the best true wireless earbuds of 2020 will be able to compete with wired headphones on a much more level playing field. We finally saw the kind of specs we can expect from true wireless earbuds in 2020; from noise cancellation to long-lasting battery life, so here are three reasons why, if you've been holding off, you should consider a pair of untethered earbuds to enjoy your tunes every day. For a while now, true wireless earbuds have typically cost more than their wired counterparts – but CES 2020 showed us this form factor doesn't have to come at a premium. The new JLab Go Air True Wireless Earbuds are a great example of the growing accessibility of cord-free listening; at just $29 / £29 (about AU$40), they're nearly eight times cheaper than the current class-leading model, the Sony WF-1000XM3.

The Apple AirPods started the "true wireless" earphones trend and now it looks like Mobvoi has come up with its own version. Called the TicPods Free, the new AirPods competitor is a more affordable alternative that costs $129. For the unaware, Mobvoi is the same company behind the TicHome Mini Google Assistant speaker and the TicWatch smartwatches. With a smart speaker and smartwatches already under its belt, the company is now taking on the Apple AirPods head on with the TicPods Free. The TicPods Free comes with two separate earbuds that do not feature any wires.

Or maybe you received these Bluetooth headphones as a gift. Either way, you'll want to make the most out of these small earbuds, which I frequently use and like a lot.
The Google Pixel Buds are probably getting a major software update soon. The rumor blog 9to5Google recently evaluated code from the latest Google app beta (version 7.23) and found several indications that the headphones will soon be updated with new capabilities. The hidden code indicates users will soon be able to customize the double-tap command on the right earphone of the Pixel Buds. Currently, double-tapping the right earphone makes the Google Assistant read back any notifications. It will also pause the Assistant any time it's speaking.
