'Fortnite Battle Royale' Heading To iOS, Android Mobile Devices
Developer Epic Games has announced that "Fortnite Battle Royale" is coming to mobile devices. The game will arrive to iOS devices first, while the Android version will be released at a later date. The mobile version of "Fortnite Battle Royale" will include the same gameplay, maps, content and the same weekly updates. The most interesting thing about this version of the game is that it will support Cross Platform Play and Cross Progression between the PlayStation 4, Windows PC, Mac, iOS and Android. This means that users will be able to play the game with their friends regardless of which device they're playing on.

Alexa voice control has arrived on Android!
"Alexa, can you order me a pizza from Dominos?" "Alexa, do you know Siri?" These are just some of the questions you might enjoy asking Alexa on your smartphone now that Amazon has brought the voice control feature to the Android version of the app. But before you start geeking out, here's the rundown of the most recent update: Until recently, the Amazon Alexa app could only be used to control settings for the Echo, Dot, and other supported devices. Considering what the AI-powered assistant is actually capable of, this is nothing to get excited about. But now all that has changed as Amazon brings voice control to the Android version of the app, making Alexa a full-fledge digital assistant on Android handsets.

Duolingo releases a Japanese language course for iOS
The days of teaching yourself Japanese exclusively through Crunchyroll shows are coming to an end. Online language learning company Duolingo announced on Wednesday that it has released a Japanese language course for its iOS app with an Android version dropping soon. This won't be some dumbed-down anglicized lesson plan either. Rather than using romaji, which are Japanese words spelled out with Roman letters (ie, "kawaii" or "Hi de koroshimasu"), this language course will teach you to understand 100 Kanji and all the Hiragana characters. And unlike some of Duolingo's other language courses, whose exercises sometimes more closely resembled MadLibs entries than anything you'd ever expect to hear someone actually say, the Japanese course features a strong focus on real-world interactions like ordering food and asking directions.

Android version of literary giant Natsume Soseki to return to alma mater to lecture
Nishogakusha University is getting a new professor, an android version of literary giant Natsume Soseki that will teach classes in commemoration of the opening of the 140-year-old institution next year. This year also marks the centennial of the death of the novelist who studied Chinese literature at the private university in Tokyo in 1881. In cooperation with Hiroshi Ishiguro, a robotics researcher at Osaka University who is famous for creating an android of himself, the university plans to have the Soseki robot recite the author's own works, as well as some Chinese poems, from next April. "It's often said that high school students today don't read books," said Kaori Echigoya, a spokeswoman for the university, which also runs junior and senior high schools. "We value Japanese language education. By recreating Soseki through the help of professor Ishiguro, we would like to nurture interest in reading and literature among students."
