Whether it's too tough, burnt to a crisp or just dripping in fat, cooking steak on the outside grill rarely does the cut of meat justice. Thankfully, a British firm has created an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered grill that it claims makes a perfect steak in just 90 seconds under controlled conditions. Perfecta, from Birmingham-based firm Seergrills, cooks the meat as it's held in place vertically, like a piece of bread in a toaster, with ultra-hot grills on either side. It has AI-powered software called NeuralFire, which relies on data gathered from sensors inside the machine and cooking preferences inputted by the user. However, if you want to get hold of one you'd better start saving - the device has an eye-watering $3,500 price tag.

Most people feel overwhelmed strolling through the wine aisle, but a new AI-powered app can find the perfect bottle of vino in seconds. Called Sippd, the app learns about your palate based on a seven-question assessment quiz that asks what colors, bodies and sweetness you prefer. You can then head to the store, pull a bottle from the shelf and snap the label - the AI-powered software analyzes the information to reveal a'Taste Match' score. Aftershoot is pleased to announce the public release of EDITS – its editing tool. Building on the success of its Culling program, Aftershoot Edits is the next step forward in becoming the go-to tool for photographers in their "after-shoot" workflow. Currently, in free release, it is open for all photographers to use by signing up. The AI learns from previous edits a photographer has made and builds a personalized profile based on them. The solution features context-aware cropping and straightening tools, enabling them to not only bring more focus toward the subject in the image but also fix some of the issues with images in terms of composition in post-production.

The rapidly expanding field artificial intelligence (AI)-aided image analysis received a boost with the FDA 510(k) clearance for Optellum Ltd.'s Virtual Nodule Clinic, which helps clinicians evaluate small, potentially malignant lung lesions or nodules. The action makes Optellum's system the first cleared radiomic application for early lung cancer, an area of active research for the last five years.
