AI For Cancer Detection: Ready for Prime Time or Caution Advised?

#artificialintelligence

Over the last couple of years, there has been much discussion about the benefits of artificial intelligence (AI) for improving healthcare. But how much of this is true and how much simply hype? Is the technology really a godsend to radiologists and other healthcare professionals, or is it making their lives more difficult? There is no doubt that AI-based image recognition technology has improved enormously in recent years. Many researchers and companies are now working on different types of programs with a view to improving speed, accuracy and costs of cancer screening.

AI-based diagnostic for faster blood tests

#artificialintelligence

Israeli firm Sight Diagnostics has been developing computer imaging coupled with machine learning technology in order to accelerate blood testing. In July 2018 the company announced it is to launch a point-of-care blood diagnostics system. The company also offers Parasight, a malaria detection device that identifies, enumerates, and speciates malaria. The new compact, desktop-sized machine termed OLO is capable of analyzing blood drops, against 19 measures, captured in single-use cartridges. The cartridges are manually loaded into the device, where the blood count is measured and digitally captured.

How Blockchain, A.I. And Other Tech Trends Will Disrupt Healthcare In 2018

#artificialintelligence

The increased use of artificial intelligence and machine learning is shifting the paradigm of medical research and treatment. These advanced technologies are providing researchers real-time access to every white paper and clinical case study conducted on a genetic disorder. Being able to develop such an elaborate database of information allows researchers to not only understand the full scope of a medical condition, but further shorten the amount of time it takes to develop a cure. Founded in 2011 by Gunjan Bhardwaj and Gaurav Tripathi, Innoplexus is a technology and product development company focused on solving complex challenges in the pharmaceutical and life sciences industries. Their end-to-end platform for Life Sciences research uses artificial intelligence to generate smart data and insights to assist in the discovery, clinical development and regulatory compliance of pharmaceutical medicine.
