OpenAI turns off ads on ChatGPT as AI falls short
When you purchase through links in our articles, we may earn a small commission. Expect them to be turned back on eventually, however. OpenAI has turned off ads appearing on ChatGPT while it works out how best to improve the model's precision, its top researchers said. In early December, a user complained about the nonsensical way in which ChatGPT was showing ads for Target below a conversation the user was having about Windows' BitLocker. In repsonse, Mark Chen, the chief research officer at OpenAI, said that the company would look into the situation.

Where AI Falls Down in Cybersecurity
Artificial intelligence (AI) burst onto the scene like a superhero trying out his first cape, accompanied by a loud and sustained PR ruckus. But the cybersecurity crowd's oohs and ahs soon began to fade into ums and uhs as the scoreboard ticked off more fails than wins for AI. Don't expect any sympathy from the spectator seats. Industry observers are pulling back their cheers for the beleaguered tech star. For example, Gartner describes the state of cyber AI as immature and advises security analysts to "treat AI offerings as experimental, complementary controls."

Deep Instinct BrandVoice: What Happens When AI Falls Into The Wrong Hands?
Artificial intelligence (AI) is one of the most discussed technology fields today – and for good reason. AI will soon impact nearly every aspect of our lives and we have only just begun scratching the surface of AI's true potential. With AI, we are deepening our knowledge of human genetics and delivering leaps in medicine, deploying self-driving vehicles and robots for an array of industries, and combating fraud and cybercrime, to name just a few of the growing list of applications. However, as with any nascent technology, AI has the potential to cause harm when placed in the wrong hands. We've begun seeing AI used for nefarious purposes, chiefly in the form of AI-facilitated Cyberattacks, and forecast Adversarial AI to be the next challenge to be faced in this area.
Why Did AI Fall Short In Slowing The Spread Of COVID-19?
The healthcare industry hoped that AI would play a crucial tool in curbing the spread of the COVID-19 virus across the world. The results up till now are a letdown. Dr Isaac Kohane (Department of Biomedical Informatics at Harvard Medical School) states that in a few cases, they were anti-constructive. He even states that they were shooting for the moon in healthcare, but they weren't even out of their own backyard. He felt that weren't getting anywhere due to the lack of high-grade data. Yet faith isn't lost on the AI contribution to address the pandemic.
