Tesla shares look at Optimus team's work on humanoid robot actuators
Tesla has shared a pretty rare look at its Optimus team's work in a new video. The clip, which featured interviews with the Optimus team and footage of the humanoid robot's custom actuators, hinted at the serious work that the electric vehicle maker has been doing for its ambitious project. Tesla CEO Elon Musk has noted that one of the company's most important products is Optimus, since the humanoid robot would be replacing human workers in tasks that are repetitive, dangerous, and boring. Tesla surprised many during its AI Day 2022 presentation, as the company was able to come up with a couple of impressive prototypes over the past year. Job listings for the Optimus team have been quite abounding on Tesla's Careers website. The recent video is no different, with Tesla inviting applicants on LinkedIn to join its Actuators team.

Don't Laugh Off the Tesla Bot. Elon Musk's Optimus Is the Real Deal
When watching Tesla's humanoid Optimus robot debut at AI Day 2022, it's entirely fair to be skeptical about the company's ultra-ambitious plans. The prototype robot's shuffling gait paled to the exciting parkour and flips of Boston Dynamics' Atlas, and Tesla has missed many deadlines bringing its full self-driving technology to its cars. But I was at the AI Day event, and I'm here to advise you not to dismiss Tesla's sci-fi inspired vision. The company revealed abundant evidence that it's thinking deeply about a bipedal robot and the artificial intelligence technology needed to make it useful. And much of Tesla's track record of genuine achievements in electric vehicle engineering and manufacturing apply to Optimus.

Elon Musk Unveils $20,000 Optimus Robot at AI Event - ExtremeTech
Musk unveiled Optimus at AI Day 2022 on Friday. "I do want to set some expectations with respect to our Optimus robot," he said. "As you know, last year was just a person in a robot suit. We've come a long way…compared to that, it'll be really impressive." That's a pretty big deal, considering Musk was already quite hopeful about the robot's potential last year. He went on to say that he thinks Optimus could "make a meaningful contribution to AGI," or artificial general intelligence: a type of AI that has the flexibility and problem-solving ability of human cognition.
Tesla's Second AI Day: Tesla Bot, Self-Driving Cars, Dojo Computers and More
Tesla's artificial intelligence team took to the stage on Friday evening for the company's second annual AI Day to demonstrate how far their autonomous robot and vehicle research has come. Tesla AI Day 2022 gave us our first look at the Optimus robot strolling around the stage, updates on self-driving software and a first look at the Dojo hardware powering Tesla's AI research. Originally planned for June, Tesla CEO Elon Musk delayed the showcase until September to get the Optimus prototype working. "This event is meant for recruiting AI & robotics engineers, so will be highly technical," Musk tweeted Thursday. Mirroring Musk's stance that the Tesla Bot will be "friendly," Tesla tweeted an animation of robot hands forming a human heart symbol.

What I learn from AI Day 2022 by Tesla
Yes, Robots are the Artificial Humans. Personally, I also learn that by having Robots – Artificial Humans, not all humans are required to make new real humans. Nothing is hidden and nothing is secret. All the work they do can also be studied, imitated, and done by other companies. This means that other companies can also work and act as "artificial Tesla".
Watch Tesla's AI Day 2022 event at 9:15PM ET
Tesla is holding another AI Day, and it'll be particularly easy to tune in. The automaker is streaming its 2022 event tonight at 9:15PM Eastern on YouTube (below) as well as its website. Elon Musk has warned the presentation will be "highly technical" and could last six hours, but you may have multiple reasons to watch even if you're not fond of diagrams and in-depth explanations. Notably, Musk said in June that Tesla pushed AI Day to September 30th in hopes of having a functional Optimus humanoid robot. It would just be a prototype, but it would show that the company's vision of an autonomous helper exists beyond pretty 3D renders.
AI Day 2022: Elon Musk's Tesla to unveil humanoid robot, supercomputer
Elon Musk-owned Tesla is set to introduce unique and innovative artificial intelligence (AI) solutions in its AI day 2022 event scheduled to take place today (tomorrow morning as per Indian Standard Time) at its Palo Alto headquarter in California. It's unlikely though that we will witness any product launch here in the event as it is more of Tesla showcasing its plans to the developers. However, it will give us insight of the products which we can expect in the future. Here we have presented the highlights of the plans unveiled during the last edition of Tesla AI day. The heart and soul of last year's event was the humanoid robot - Tesla bot.
