The adorable bots on display at CES so far

Daily Mail - Science & tech

Robots are just about everywhere you look at CES, from humanoid assistants to tiny AI characters that can sit on the countertop. Customer service and assistance robots were on display across the Las Vegas Convention Center showfloor, with life-sized bots from Sanbot and FURo among the popular personalities. Educational robots also made a major appearance, including Robokind's autism therapy bot, and IooBot's table-top lineup that you can control with your thoughts. IooBots showed off a line of robots the firm says are controlled by your brainwaves. At CES, the robots could be seen rolling around on their small displays.

UBTECH has launched one of the most adorable home robots to date: the Star Wars First Order Stormtrooper robot. The robot works with a companion app, which includes a pair of augmented reality modes for fighting against the Resistance. In addition to that, the First Order Stormtrooper bot boasts facial recognition capabilities, plus support for many voice commands, a sentry patrolling feature, and more. The First Order Stormtrooper Robot features both first and third-person augmented reality modes in its app; with them, owners can launch attacks against the Resistance, issue verbal commands, and more as part of an interactive game. The robot itself has voice command support, enabling users to talk directly to it in a way similar to using an Echo device.
