120 court cases have been caught with AI hallucinations, according to new database
Lawyers representing Anthropic recently got busted for using a false attribution generated by Claude in an expert testimony. But that's one of more than 20 court cases containing AI hallucinations in the past month alone, according to a new database created by French lawyer and data scientist Damien Charlotin. And those were just the ones that were caught in the act. In 2024, which was the first full year of tracking cases, Charlotin found 36 instances. That jumped up to 48 in 2025, and the year is only half way over.
Report: Tesla has not prepared Austin for robotaxi launch next week
Elon Musk has said that he's now going all-in with his companies after shifting focus from his role as a special government employee for the Trump administration. And there's no shortage of problems for Musk to attend to, including Tesla's recent abysmal quarterly report and crashing Tesla sales numbers in Europe. Now, another big Tesla project may be in jeopardy. Tesla is set to launch its long-awaited robotaxi program in Austin, Texas next week. However, according to a new report from Fortune, the city of Austin is not ready for Tesla's robotaxis just yet. A small fleet of Tesla robotaxis is already up and running in Austin and San Francisco, serving an "early set of employees" in the two cities as part of an initial testing phase.
Learn to code, they said: AI is already erasing some entry-level coding jobs
There's been a lot of talk in recent years about AI replacing the role of humans in the workforce. It's been unclear exactly if or when that would happen on a broader scale. However, this is already happening in one industry in particular: The tech industry. Researchers at the venture capital firm SignalFire recently released their "State of Talent Report" for 2025, which analyzes hiring and employment trends across the tech industry. The big takeaway, according to SignalFire's report, is that new graduate hiring has declined. Hiring levels for experienced roles like mid- and senior-level positions have remained strong, while entry-level tech jobs have taken a big hit.
New leak suggests Grok 3.5 is coming soon from xAI
The Grok 3.5 launch is imminent, according to references to the model spotted in some lines of code. The latest version of Grok doesn't have an official launch date, but that could be coming any day now since mention of Grok 3.5 has been showing up in xAI's latest web build, according to TestingCatalog, which posted screenshots on X. The AI news site also noticed a reference to an API, and said it might also be preparing a screen-sharing feature for Grok's voice mode on iOS. This would be similar to OpenAI's voice mode with ChatGPT and Google's Gemini Live features. In late April, xAI founder Elon Musk posted that an early beta release of Grok 3.5 would be available to SuperGrok subscribers, starting the countdown for a wider release.
Apples new HomePod with a display might arrive by the end of 2025
Apple's new HomePod will have a display, and it might arrive later this year. This is according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman (via 9to5Mac), who claims that the device will launch "by the end of this year," though he admits that the timing is uncertain. The new device will be a smart home speaker with an added display (a 7-inch one, previous rumors claim), that should one day become a centerpiece of Apple's smart home tech. Other features, per previous reports, includes support for Apple Intelligence, a camera, smart home controls, and a rechargeable battery. While the device will have a built-in speaker, Apple will likely position it as a smart hub instead of just a home speaker.

The One Big Beautiful Bill Act would ban states from regulating AI
Buried in the Republican budget bill is a proposal that will radically change how artificial intelligence develops in the U.S., according to both its supporters and critics. The provision would ban states from regulating AI for the next decade. Opponents say the moratorium is so broadly written that states wouldn't be able to enact protections for consumers affected by harmful applications of AI, like discriminatory employment tools, deepfakes, and addictive chatbots. Instead, consumers would have to wait for Congress to pass its own federal legislation to address those concerns. Currently it has no draft of such a bill.
